quiveringnorm
Someone please fill me in on what the RB story is going to be the next couple of weeks?
sundaynfl
Shanny is using Bell as a change of pace back. Droughns is still his back to get the lions share, at least he thinks he is. They are in search of several answers to avoid a repeat of the end of last season! Which is already repeating itself.
Skrappy1
Not a Denver homer, but here is the latest on the situation from TSN...not that you can really take whatever Shanahan says as concrete, but this sounds reasonable: Dec. 7, 11:19 a.m. Reuben Droughns - RB, Denver Coach Mike Shanahan told the Denver Post that he still plans to give Droughns 20-25 carries per week. But he will continue to mix in Tatum Bell, who had seven carries for 31 yards in Week 13. Fantasy Source spin: Doughns owners can breathe a sigh of relief. Droughns should be in store for a big game Sunday at home against the Dolphins. Next 3: MIA (25th in run defense; 134.0 ypg), @KC, @TEN. Bye week: 10 Dec. 7, 11:17 a.m. Tatum Bell - RB, Denver Coach Mike Shanahan told the Denver Post that he will continue to use Bell as a change-of-pace back to give Reuben Droughns some rest. Fantasy Source spin: Leave Bell on your bench, unless he manages to take more carries away from Droughns. Next 3: MIA (25th in run defense; 134.0 ypg), @KC, @TEN. Bye week:

Turf Smurf
This spells B e l l in 2005!! 597999 Absolutely agree! May even be sooner if Droughns doesn't star making a bigger impact again SOON!

PIMP69
Absolutely agree! May even be sooner if Droughns doesn't star making a bigger impact again SOON! 598617 you can't honestly say that you thought droughns was going to have a good day vs san diego. and up until that game he was doing just fine. in my opinion it's as simple as this. the schedule has been cake since droughns has started and as long as the likes of miami, kc, tenn., and indy are stlill remaining and droughns get's his 60%+ of the carries he'll have way more oportunities to shine and shanny will go w/ the back that produces. thus the odds are not in bell's favor this season. Droughns remains the main RB with 80% of the touches, but Bell starts playing every week, probably 5-10 touches per game but that's it. MrTed46
Bell is their future (or they think) He will get more carries. The main thing holding him back now is they need to win. If drougns shows ever a bad game and bell is doin decent i guarantee he will swap them. I do not like the situation. Its too delicate. PackerFanX
I was able to snag Bell off of the Waiver Wire in one of my Leagues to have in case Droughns goes down. Hopefully Bell doesn't take too many carries away from Reuben.
Marauders11
From Shanahan's Monday Press Conference: Will Bell continue to see carries the rest of the season? “Well, what we’ll get a chance to do is take a little pressure off of (starting RB) Reuben (Droughns). We still want him to get that 20-25 carries or somewhere in that area, and if you can a guy that can go in and carry the ball anywhere from 5-10 times, you feel pretty good. I think they compliment each other because Tatum is a guy that’s got great speed and he hits the hole pretty quick too. Reuben is more of a north and south runner and can run over people, so I think it’s a good combination.”
