polksalet
I hear bama has some effective recruiting techniques, and why isnt smu on the list?
Chavez
If I were rating colleges, I'd probably look at several factors: - number of alums in the NFL - playin' college ball is great and all, but everybody wants to go to the big show, no doubt. - climate - warm is good. Madison WI is an awesome city, for example, and the Badgers have a solid program but it is decidedly less awesome than, say, Tempe AZ in January and February. - student body - more students = more chicks; even better are colleges where the women outnumber the men (look for schools that have good teaching and nursing programs) - tradition - yep, they can rip "today's MTV short attention span" but anyone who knows ANYTHING about football has to get chills from hangin' on the same sideline that a Bryant or Rockne walked on This is an "all things being equal" list; obviously a WR is going to lean more heavily towards a school like Florida or FSU where they THROW the ball as opposed to a Nebraska or such, and the security of the current coaching staff would be a large factor in my mind as well. Hugh B Tool
Agree with the young gun Chavez. Nice climate, hot babes to go along with the weather. On a clear day .... UCLA
McSooner
I hear the SEC has had in effect, for some time, The Tee Martin Recruiting Advantage Program. Their slogan? "WE GOT CASH!!!". lol lol lol

Back in the day, why would a top recruit settle for cash from the SEC when he could get cash + a nice car in the old SWC? :P
spain
Another consideration for some "athletes" is whether the school has a nice ice skating facility..
Trojanmojo
I would think that both USC and UCLA should be on that list. They have good academics, great pro player development, excellent climate, lots of hotties, and very good programs and play in one of the best conferences in the country. The 40-3 ***-whooping we put on you yesterday won't hurt recruiting vs. you either!
Chief Dick
Yeah, but L.A. has a little bit of a bigger population to draw from than Boulder. You wanna talk per capita, Boulder wins.
Rooks
Nobody thinks playing in the biggest stadiums in the country helps? I think year in and year out Michigan does pretty well. All of the Florida schools are at the top because Florida has a great bunch of athletes not because they are stealing many offensive linemen from Nebraska. You want recruiting like that you have to go Big Ten. Even my beloved Virginia Tech rarely gets any players of talent outside of Virginia. Yeah I know we got Kevin Jones, but it's still not usual!
