godtomsatan
One of the best punters in NFL history.... http://www.palmbeachpost.com/dolphins/cont...s/0222roby.html Former Dolphins Pro Bowl punter Reggie Roby died early Tuesday in Nashville, Tenn. of unknown causes, according to his family. darin3
I'll always remember his ultra-high leg swing when he kicked. Definitely someone I recall from my early NFL-watching days. He and the "other" Reggie who passed away recently are up on the football field in the sky reminiscing about the good old days...
Donutrun Jellies
My roommate in college dated a girl in college whose last name was Roby, but there was no relation ... regardless of that, I'm sorry to hear he died so young ... not something you'd expect from a kicker and never a good thing. Chavez
I totally respect any punter who knows his place so well he wears a freakin' WATCH on the field.
'canes2004
Very sad. A great player at his position and a super nice guy in person. He will be sorely missed.
Trailer Parker
After his playing days, Roby settled here in Nashville. He worked for a locally well known organization called Backfield in Motion. It helps disadavantaged inner city youth. Roby was very active in helping kids in this community. It was pretty shocking to hear about his death at such a young age..
Seahawks21
When the Dolphins would arrive at a stadium for walkthrough---if it was a dome---he would try to hit the roof with a punt.....and sometimes he would get it!!!! I've seen some blurbs about his work over the years, seemed to be a really good guy. A local sportsradio host here in Seattle grew up in Miami while Roby was kicking. I guess like three times as many people as usual would show up 2 hours before the game to watch him in warmups, and there would be oooos and ahhhhs from the crowd. I remember him for never jumping when he punted, he always kept his foot on the ground and just booted. ----
