I have two pretty solid ideas that would both be pretty easy and pretty cheap to make.  One of the two, I think, is a great idea that a lot of people would buy.

What steps to I take to make this a reality?

"I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that."

patent

I guess that is the easy answer but what does that really mean? Does it cost money. Do you just walk in and splain your idea? Do you make one and take it in? Is it a much longer process that involves tons of paper work before you really do anything?

You have a few options. You can go to a site like invent.com or you can talk to a patent attorney. Normally the attorney will take care of most of the paperwork, you just sign where he/she puts the signature sticker. Once you get the patent pending you're all set, you can start pitching your idea. It doesn't take a long time to get the ball rolling and you're looking at a pretty low cost to start, around $1200 or so should do it.

Do NOT under any circumstances use one of those invention submission companies. Total scam. They'll make you fork over a lot of money, have some shlub lawyer get you a design patent, make you pay a lot more money and do absolutely nothing to try to help you.

Ask Skins. He's an IP guy.

Just think about how comfortable the seats would be at the ballgame, or at church, or at a long seminar if you had Inflatable Pants .

If you have incontinence or frequent urination problems... try our new Colostomy Pants which work along the same kind of technology.

I have enough trouble fitting in those seats without making the pants any bigger. :D
