NYJ vs. HOU

So it's still early, but FWIW, the Jets o-line has not looked too strong ... little or no push in the running game, what limited success the RBs have had they have managed pretty much on their own. Sanchez seems "ok" thus far, but perhaps a tad frantic at times under only moderate pressure.

That's why they play 4 quarters.

Hard to say if there's trouble for the Texans offense or if Jets D is really good. Based on what I saw, I'm leaning towards the Jets D being very good.

I agree with your conclusion. Texans O looked out of sync from what i watched, but think the Jets D was the reason.

They played today?

When are the Texans getting to the ball park?

Happy to hear this. I actually got on tonight just to find out about this game. I have the Jets D in one league and a handful of Texans in a couple as well. I was sincerely hoping to hear that their D was good today and that it wasn't that the Houston O was just crapping the bed. I started Shaub, AJ and Slaton all on one team today... Ouch!

Houston was very unprepared for the new Ryan defense. That I could understand, but they failed to make any half time adjudtments, and that is a head scratcher. They ran at Devito, Ellis' replacement instead of at Gholston, Pace's fill in. That was not smart. They made their center man up on Jenkins, and that was pretty stupid too. Jenkins has to be doubled.... the same way AJ was doubled by the Jets most of the game. Jenkins was disrupting all day long. You would think with that, LB blitzes up the middle would get picked up, but they weren't. Scott was in Schaubs face all day, and when Schaub did have time, he held the ball.... could have been coverage, could have been he was just a bit shell shocked.

Both teams shut down the running game. The Texans made the rook throw, and he did successfully. Houston has talent enough, but I wonder about the CS. Granted, Houston had no regular season game tapes of the new Ryan/Jets D to develop a good game plan, but they came out in the second half and still single teamed Jenkins. It seemed like they made no second half adjustments at all.

Houston isn't this bad, and the Jets aren't this good. It's one week. Kubiack had better improve before he can expect his team to improve though. More than anything else, Houston got out coached, out schemed. I'll still start Slaton and Schaub next week, and AJ if I owned him. Not impressed with the Texann's new DC.... pretty vanilla against a rookie QB. They suffed the box but did not blitz nearly enough. I don't think Sanchez got sacked once. Mario got some good pressures, but that was it.

BTW.... since I am posting here.... I still carry the T Jones flag as being under valued. Over 100 and 2 TD's. Yes, the yardage came late.... but splits don't count in FF. That, and Stuckey and the Jets WR's along with Keller look like they are more than adequate. Sanchez (and I did not like that pick) looks like he has potential. The Jets didn't even have to unveil the nuke.... David Clowney. Savin him for NE next week.

Schaub isn't progressing and seems lackadaisical at times. Yeah he projects out nicely but I think this is more to do with HOU talent at skill positions than Schaub. As a Schaub owner this is disheartening.

I'm not giving up on Shaub yet but the four points he got me this week reminds me of when Bulger was my QB two years ago. Watching Hasslebeck rack up points on my bench didn't help either considering I planned on starting him all week. Thank god for AP to save my game this week

I'm not suggesting giving up either but it might be time to temper expectations with him. He doesn't appear willing, or able, to elevate his game.

Maybe it was just frustration, but I swear late in the game on a couple pass plays where there seemed to be a timing issue, Schaub and his receivers were just glaring at each other after the play. It didn't look good.

Maybe getting it handed to them is good and will be a wake up for the next week.

As a Jet fan, I loved it, but as a Slaton owner in one league and an AJ and Damiels owner in another, it was a disaster.
