  1. bass fishing

No prob, your tax dollars working for you!
  2. bass fishing

You will be hard pressed to catch bass or trout fro the pier. For bass, find a bouy marking rocks and fish there. Use worms or crawfish as bait with a spinner, bright green or orange. Cast and troll, or keep reeling in slow. For trout, find a marshy area. Fallen trees, that sort of thing. Trolling works best, worms for bait, and a shiny spinner, silver or gold. Fishing in Lake George itself is ok. If you are really pumped for fishing, head to Schroon Lake or one of the surrounding areas that are less populated. The farther north you head the less people. You can also fish Lake George well from Bolton Landing, or the other side (non-tourist side of the lake). As for a boat, a rowboat will be fine if you're up for it. Have fun. I'm taking the kids fishing up there in a couple weeks. mmmmm, bass and rainbow
  3. Movie quote time

Evil Genius - When I have the map, I will be free, and the world will be different, because I have understanding. Robert - Understanding of what, master? Evil Genius - Digital watches. And soon I will have understanding of videocassette recorders and car telephones. And when I have understanding of them, I shall have understanding of computers. And when I have understanding of computers, I shall be the Supreme Being! God isn't interested in technology. He knows nothing of the potential of the microchip or the silicon revolution. Look how he spends his time: forty-three species of parrots! Nipples for men! Robert - Slugs. Evil Genius - Slugs! He created slugs! They can't hear, they can't speak, they can't operate machinery. If I were creating the world, I wouldn't mess about with butterflies and daffodils. I would've started with lasers, eight o'clock, day one.

  7. priceline.com

I have used it for car rentals with great success. I have not gotten it for hotels or airfare, but not for trying. I usually use travelocity to get the going rate, then put in 1/2 price on proceline and see what comes up.
  8. Blackberry Pearl

I have a pearl, t-mobile as my carrier web and email is unlimited surfing the net is ok, you can still post here, some sites are poorly designed for blackberry screens though... you get used to the 1/2 keyboard pretty quick and it is a heck of a lot smaller than the full size version You can also get email from exchange servers and open most office doc and pdfs without problems
  9. Apple needs some new Engineers

My crackberry battery is $50 How often should I replace it, every month? every 6 months? If I buy a new battery for every day of the week will I ever have to charge it again?? Inquiring minds want to know!!
  10. lake george , ny

I grew up there and my folks still live there. So, to me, LG is meh. When I head back that way I usually go to Saratoga or farther north to Lake Placid, or Saranac Lake. Too many tourists in LG.
  11. sony cuts price of PS3

The upscale for regular DVDs is ok. It is not as good as my tv (XBR). Furthermore, if you've got a plasma or lcd that isn't to the exact specs of 720p, 1080p, etc., your tv is going to modify the signal anyway... Upscaling at the player level is a bunch of hype, unless you paid top dollar for a good scaler. And I'll agree with Avernus, blu-ray blows away dvd. Planet Earth on blu-ray is phenomenal!!
  12. sony cuts price of PS3

agreed. I've replaced my dvd player with it in the family room and the fan noise is minimal.

  14. Let's talk about the Metal

Best metal shows Anthrax opening for Maiden (Fear of the dark show, they played in t-shirts and jeans and the backdrop changed to show eddie for every song) Metallica opening for Maiden (Stranger in a strange land) "An evening with Mettalica" - 3 hours of bliss right before it went downhill when the black album came out Pantera opening for Sabbath Suicidal Tendencies opening for Queensryche (Mindcrime tour) EDIT: Forgot to add both Korn and Rob Zombie put on one hell of a show
  15. Let's talk about the Metal

Saw them open for Metallica several years ago and they rocked. Still have a drum stick around here somewhere... Also saw Testament open for Maiden ages ago, good stuff. Much better live than on CD. And where is the love for Megadeth, Peace Sells Dead Kennedys - While not necessarily metal... :old fart voice: The metal these kids listen to today sucks balls. Real metal
  16. Virginia Beach Golf, does anyone know...

I live in Houston now :beat big john to it: The NRHA was more of an annoyance on Willoughby. When I lived in EOV across from the Tiny Giant, about 10 yrs ago, you did not go out at night. It was good that the neighborhood was getting cleaned up, but while living there the clean-up did not seem to be a logical progression. You had the $1M houses going in while there where murders and rapes going on one block over. It would have been nicer to clean the area up before putting in houses for the rich folk. The biggest issue I had with the NRHA was that OV is a blue-collar community and with housing prices there now I don't know how people can afford it. I will say this though, when we sold our house last year we made a pretty penny.
  17. Virginia Beach Golf, does anyone know...

I lived on Willoughby Spit until a year ago. It was a sad day when they took away my neighbor for being a pimp

  19. AC/DC is best served loud

At home, work off tomorrow, wife and kids are out of town  and I wondered why my parents didn't like me listening to them as a kid... neckties, contracts, high voltage
  20. Virginia Beach Golf, does anyone know...

You can also be regular gob'ment. I can get on all the bases with my badge easier than I can get into work.
  21. Mechanics

I do all my own work on my Jeep, nobody's touching my baby! But on my wife's Volvo, I typically have someone else do it. Stinkin computers and turbos and such. To answer your question, I trust the guy as far as I can throw him.
  22. Virginia Beach Golf, does anyone know...

I have played Riverfront and it is pretty nice. Good layout, very friendly staff. It can get a little swampy after a big rain, so check the weather before you book. Also, if you can get on the bases, the Navy base (Norfolk) and Air Force base (Langley) have decent courses for very, very cheap. Ocean View is also quite cheap and an easy course to play. They have made it a lot nicer recently, and you can also score some crack and hookers while you're there!
