  1. This is Aqualung's wife. And believe me when I tell you this is the best community ever. I hope your wife will stay strong and fight through this. You need to be there for her, as I'm sure you will be, and remember if you need any help, this is the place to come. My thoughts will be with you and her. Hang in there.

  2. Thank you all again. One night as I was listening through all of Rich's Jethro Tull albums -, I came upon one that made me really feel better. Here are the words to one of the songs. I hope it means something to all of you too.

Jethro Tull - Roots to Branches

    At Last, Forever

So why are you holding my hand tonight?

I’m not intending to go far away.

I’m just slipping through to the back room –

I’ll leave you messages almost every day.

And who was I to last forever?

I didn’t promise to stay the pace.

    Not in this lifetime, babe

    But we’ll cling together,

Some kind of heaven written in your face.

So why are you holding my hand tonight?

Well, am I feeling so cold to the touch?

Do my eyes seem to focus

    On some distant point?

Why do I find it hard to talk too much?

I didn’t promise to stay the pace.

    Not in this lifetime, babe

    But we’ll cling together,

Some kind of heaven written in your face

  3. I don't know where to start. And I sure never started a post before. But I didn't know how else to thank you all for everything you did for us. The angel from one of the funeral arrangements is in my flower garden, so I will alway remember what you did for us and what Rich meant to you. You don't know how much you helped me through all this. I'm so glad I got to know so many of you. Each of you have done something special in your own way - being a post, a card, letters, a gift, a phone call, or something else, and it's all been overwhelming. I'm just so glad Rich had you in his life. I know you meant a lot to him and now you mean a lot to me. Bless you all.

    Thank you,

    Audrey

  4. Thank you all for the beautiful arrangements you sent! Our whole family was very touched. It was a very long hard day today, but I felt like you were all there with us and it really helped. We have a closed casket - I wanted all of Rich's family and friends to remember him like he used to be. We had framed photos all over the top of the casket and we had a collage of pictures set up on an easel, plus we set up his laptop to run a slide show of all the pictures of him - from the time he was little to just this past year. I am having trouble going to bed tonight knowing I have to say my final goodbye tomorrow to my best friend. So that's why I'm here. I'm having a glass of wine and feeling like I'm with all of Rich's friends. Your support and kindness has been overwhelming. And to Hugh One, thank you for the tribute on your race bib. I'll show the picture to the kids. Again, thank you all so much.

  5. This is Aqua's wife and I have very sad news. Rich passed away today a little after noon. Our son & I were with him and he went very peacefully. I want to thank you all for all your support, it really did make a difference to us. I'm so glad you were there for him. Even though you may never have met him face to face, he counted you as good friends. Thank you.

  6. This is Aqua's wife. Sorry to say I do not have good news. Rich has developed sepsis which I guess is a bad infection throughout his body. He has been unresponsive for the past 2 days. The doctors are telling us it does not look good for him. The next 24 - 48 hours will be crucial. They are giving him lots of antibiotics and they do not think he is in any pain. His kidneys are not functioning very well. Our children came down for the weekend and our son is staying with me now and our daughter will coming back too in a day or so. All of the rest of Rich's family came on to see him on Sunday. I will keep you posted. We have not given up all hope yet but we are trying to prepare for the worst. I just wanted to keep you informed as it feels like you are his family too.

  7. This is Aqua's wife. Thought I'd give you an update along with our thanks for the beautiful Buffalo Bills blanket. Rich had a bit of a complication this past week, but hopefully it won't set him back too far. The doctors are on top of it and so far I still have faith in them to get it fixed quickly. Also, our plans to move him to the rehab place in Erie near our kids has kind of fallen through for awhile. The facility in Erie doesn't deal with vent patients. So he will have to go to Health South in Monroeville (near Pittsburgh) first, then when he gets off the vent hopefully he can be transferred to Erie. Anyway, we will get it worked out. Just wanted to let you know how things are going. And thanks again for all you have done. You just can't know how much it means to both of us.

  8. This is Aqua's wife. I don't how to begin to thank all of you. The cards, prayers, letters and get well posts mean so much to both him & I. I knew you all were a big part of his life and I at times I was a little jealous of how much time he spent here. Now I understand why he did. What a great bunch of people. Thank you Skippy for coming to visit. It lifts both our spirits. I really don't know how to thank all of you for the gift of money. It is going to go a long way to help make up my lost pay and also to help cover some of the medical bills which I will deal with later. Thank you all for being here for us!

He is still hanging in there. Yesterday his left arm got more feeling and movement so it is really encouraging. The doctors have even been more upbeat about his prognosis. I think your prayers are working! THANK YOU!

  9. This is Mrs. Aqua. Here's an update. He had a really good day. He is starting to move his shoulders and upper arms so the doctors are encouraged that his condition is improving. The tumors are the same size but they feel the cancer is stabilized. They cautioned me that he still has a long way to go and it's not going to be easy, but any sign of improvement gives me hope. He was actually smiling today and in good spirits. I read the cards some of you sent and he seemed to brighten right up. Thanks for the letter Steve, it got a big smile from him. I know he is really touched and a bit overwhelmed at the out pouring of good wishes and prayers from all of you here. THANK YOU!! 'You truly are a wonderful bunch of people.

  10. This is Aqua's wife. Thank you for all your thoughts & prayers. I will be returning to the hospital tomorrow. I am taking his laptop with me so I can read him all your posts. He is at West Penn Hospital, 4800 Friendship Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15224, room E701. Cards would be great. He always gets a big smile when I show him the cards he gets. He is really trying to hang in there.

  11. So, if a husband and father is a complete uncaring douchebag that's banging 16 year olds and just doesn't give flying f*ck about his wife or even their son for that matter, and all the time the wife is trying to do everything right, how much blame is there with the husband if the wife sits in a garage and kills herself and her baby because of his douchebaggery? I'm not saying that's the case here, but what if it were?

    Thoughts?

I'm sure those exact thoughts have entered his mind.

  12. Wasn't that just Jack being a little delusional or something? I don't think they ever really showed Jacks dad did they?

No but told the other doctor to go upstairs and see if his dad was drunker than he was. Or something like that.

  13. In teh comments section someone quoted a story from CBS that he was tapping a student (perhaps underage). Doesn't change what he went through, just means he's got more bit adversity to deal with.

    True.

    The girl was allegedly 16.

  14. I saw on a billboard that Kendra (I think that's her name) is performing in one of the casinos here in Atlantic City. Uh, what's the show? What talent does she have that can fill a 2-3 hour performance?

    The Sheikette

    :D:D

Three days of posting denied to you young lady and your hubby for posting on the hubbys userid. Sorry!

  15. I'm really impressed with how Pitt has played after losing 2 key players. Victories over Dook and GTown, not too shabby.

They had both Fields and Cook against Duke. Cook got hurt at the end of regulation. But they have been playing extremely well.
