Vic Nicknames or Slogans if he plays again
cdrudge replied to Dont Rookie Me........'s topic in Fantasy Football
Out of curiosity, what is the origins of the whole "Most exciting player in the NFL" line? -
I seem to remember another recent legal case where a prosecutor was able to get an indictment, albeit in state court, against a few other athletes. That grand jury apparently saw some compelling evidence against those guys too to return the indictment. Except for any real evidence was thrown out, disproved, or made otherwise worthless as to what really happened. I'm not saying that there are similarities between Vick and the Duke lacrosse players (I personally think Vick is guilty and knew exactly what was going on and participated in it). I'm just using that as an example as to how skewed a grand jury indictment can be when only one side gets to argue their point.

December 18th, 1999 under this sign in my hometown. There was a slight flurry that night. I forgot where we went to dinner, but it was good. I was suppose to have a carriage ride, but I believe they were all booked that night. Got down on one knee and presented her a ring from the quarter machine from the local Wal-Mart. I had a real one in my pocket, but it was an inside joke as some previous friends we had a falling out with purchased their actual rings at a Wal-Mart for like $10. Seriously.

If you want the house, YOU pay for the inspection of the line and any initial estimates of the work by a plumber of your choice. Then you provide the estimate to the seller and work out a deal, most likely where they pay for most/all of the bill. If the seller balks at the repair and/or anything else the full inspection turns up, walk away. Unless you really want the house and are willing to pay for it out of your own pocket. But no matter what, don't do ANYTHING prior to getting the home owner's consent.

IANAL, but if you put the money in escrow for the repairs and the house closes, but in the course of the actual repairs it's discovered that the yard has a large oil tank or some other issue, isn't it no longer the seller's responsibility? This obviously presumes that the seller was not aware of the tank (or other issue).

If you still live near where you were born, check with the local board of healty, city/country clerk, etc. I know in my town it's just as simple as showing up, proving your identity (state driver's license is sufficient) and filling out a form for a replacement/duplicate. We even have the option of getting a certificate or a convenient wallet sized copy. If you don't live close to your birthplace, still give them a call and see what the requirements are.

I've around 400 VHS I am trying to get rid of...

If not to a hospital, try a library, women's shelter, children's home, etc (depending on content of course). You probably aren't going to get any real money for it, but you may be able to fudge the numbers more for tax purposes. -
A friend of mine has a brother in law that hasn't been able to hold down a real job in I don't know how long, doesn't spend time with family/friends, refuses to do anything unless it has something to do with online gaming or one of several different trading card games (Spellfire, Magic: The Gathering, etc). He was fired from his last real job long ago because of job performance due to the game and taking several hour lunches...to play games. He has a college degree, but has let his family waste away because of it. Due to his financial instability, their home was recently foreclosed and he's drained almost all of his parents retirement money out of thier savings because they had to support him. Most meals are Spaghetti-Ohs or something similar because it's cheap and quick and he can get to other more important things...like playing games. While it wasn't as bad as the couple in the news article, I can definitely see how it happens although I don't understand how people can let it get that far without realizing how nucking futs their life and faimily situation is.

should a double amputee be allowed to compete in the olympics?
cdrudge replied to Azazello1313's topic in The Tailgate
So should a high jumper be allowed to compete in a high jump with a carbon fiber leg that might give a height advantage then if they had natural legs? Or maybe more spring to the step due to their design? If doctors or some other type of experts can determine that the artifical legs do not give the athlete an unnatural advantage in any way then I say he probably could. However I don't think that experts would universally agree as to if they did or didn't give an advantage. -

I don't know about the 100m on stilts part...the times I've been on stilts it makes thing even harder to run. But if the athlete were to enter the long jump or high jump with 20 foot stilts as leg attachments, it obviously would give him an unnatural advantage. -
I personally recommend a Windows Pocket PC phone over a Blackberry. There's more expandability and customizability, but you might sacrifice a little less polished UI. I currently have the T-Mobile Wing with a slide out QWERTY keyboard. Internet service is billed separately then voice. I have an unlimited 5.99 plan that in some locations requires going through a proxy, but in my area it does not. Internet browsing isn't too bad if the site is designed for mobile usage. Some sites are, some sites aren't. The ones that aren't are painful. And don't expect the same type of functionality as what your PC has, but it's nice to be able to connect to the internet while you are out and about and get information on something.

Here is a . It looks like the citations were from a month ago and are finally making it's way though the court system. He won't be in court until next month. Edit: CNN also has an article

The one thing that I don't like about the Kingda Ka is that it's not original. It's essentially Top Thrill Dragster a few feet higher and a extra hump. It opened up 2 years after TTD after the design company worked out all of the kinks that initially plagued TTD. It may hold all the actual records, but in my opinion to get a new coaster record it needs to be a new, unique design as oppose to what someone else did only ever so slightly faster/higher/better. For roller coasters in general though, you can't beat Cedar Point.

I'm a real man. I do all my own automotive work and change the oil as needed on my minivan. The one thing I don't do though is change the oil in my daily driver Cavalier. Due to wonderful automotive engineering, GM decided to put the oil filter in the most inaccessible area of the vehicle. If you have small hands, there are several ways to get to the filter. But I have fat sausage hands and fingers and it's nearly impossible to get my hand up into the back of the engine. I go to Wal-Mart because it's cheap, usually quick, and I don't have to mess with it.
