  1. In a trade like this, you gotta strip away all the extras and see the trade for what it really is. I think, especially a few weeks from now when A. Johnson comes back and Maroney's up to speed, it's essentially gonna be a Lynch for Williams trade, and I'd take that in a second.

Andre Davis and Kevin Faulk are just temp fixes that, any other time, would be waiver wire fodder. I could be wrong, but that's what I think.

Agreed. That's exactly what I was getting at. :D

  2. I gave up Roy Williams, Kevin Faulk, Andre Davis for Marshawn Lynch and SanDiego Defense.

    My Team:

    QB- Hasselback

    RB- Ronnie Brown, Kevin Faulk

WR- Braylon Ed, Roy Will, Patrick Crayton, Andre Davis, Bernard Berrien, Ronald Curry, Deion Branch, Lance Moore, Kevin Walter

    TE- Todd Heap

    K- Nick Folk

    D- Arizona

We play in 14 player league, non PPR, and it is difficult to get trades done, so I gave as much as I could.

I think it was a pretty good move. You needed a RB bad (sorry, Kevin Faulk should not be playing in ANY fantasy league; he doesn't get nearly enough touches), and you got a lower tier #1 RB in Lynch. In addition, San Diego's defense is a nice step up from Arizona.

You gave up a #1 receiver in Williams and that's about it. I guess in a 14 team league Andre Davis has some value, but he's no stud (especially when A.Johnson comes back) and like I said earlier Faulk is worthless.

In my view, the trade was essentially Roy Williams and Andre Davis for Marshawn Lynch and Charger's defense. I'll take that all day long, especially if you are hurting for RB's as bad as you were.

The guys who posted above are crazy. How was this a raping? Do you consider Faulk or Andre Davis useful players? You shouldn't. So it was Roy Williams for Lynch with the Chargers defense thrown in for good measure.

  3. My league is performance based.

1 point for 10 yards receiving or rushing (backs or receivers)

6 points for TD (rushing, receiving, passing)

Bonuses at the 100 (200, 300 etc.) mark, bonuses for long TD's

In my league, each week you must start

    1 QB

    2 RB

    2 WR

    1 TE

    1 Kicker

    1 Defense/ Special Teams

My current roster is as such (including reserves):

QB - Matt Hasselbeck, Matt Schaub

RB - Larry Johnson, Frank Gore, Edgerrin James Ahman Green

WR - Steve Smith, Santonio Holmes, Nate Burleson, Derrick mason

    TE- Kellen Winslow, Randy McMichael

Kicker - Nick Fol, Ryan Longwell

    D/ST - Cowboys, Seahawks

In case this is useful, I recently made two pretty big trades. In one, I had Reggie Wayne and traded him straight up for Larry Johnson. In another, I traded Jason Witten and Brandon Jacobs for Kellen Winslow and Edge.

Obviously, since losing Wayne, my team needs a strong #2 receiver. The guys I have other than Steve Smith are inconsistent.

The guy I am trading with has the following roster

    QB: Vince Young, Jay Cutler

RB: Travis Henry, Willie Parker, Derrick Ward, Julius Jones

WR: Larry Fitzgerald, Javon Walker, Anthony Gonzalez, Bobby Engram, Deion Branch (injured)

    TE: Owen Daniels, Jeb Putzier

    K: Wilkins, Gotskowski

    D/ST: Eagles, Bills

I personally think his team is pretty bad. Due to some VERY lucky matchups, he is 5-1, even with the second lowest points in the league. I think he knows his luck is going to run out, and that his current team is going nowhere.

He wants one of the following RBs from me: Gore, Edge, Larry Johnson

He is offering Fitz or Javon Walker straight up for any of these. Personally i think I could get higher value for one of these RB's, but I'm not sure. He also doesn't have anything else on his team that interests me to sweeten the deal.

So would you trade any of those RB's (Gore, LJ, or Edge) straight up for Javon Walker or Larry Fitzgerald? Looking at their numbers, J Walker and Fitz aren't even much better than my current #2, Santonio Holmes.

The only throw-in I could think of would be Owen Daniels, and even then, it seems like this trade wouldn't do me much good.

Gore, LJ, or Edge for Javon Walker/Owen Daniels? :D

I don't think this guy has what I need to be trading with me...what do you guys think?

  4. Any help would be appreciated.

My team has backed into the playoffs. After starting the season 5-0-1, I went 2-5 in the last 7 and still managed to grab one of the four playoff spots. My team is cold, injured, and I'm in a boatload of trouble. :D

    My WR's are as follows:

    L. Coles vs Buffalo

    M. Colston @ Dallas

    Muhammad @ STL

    Chambers vs NE

I must start two. This is a performance league.

Coles/Colston would seem like the most reasonable play, but I really DO NOT want to be screwed by a game-time decision Colston again. Even if he is back, how effective will he be in his first game back @ Dallas?

Chambers has been a huge bust all season, but had a pretty good game last week. He has screwed me all season, and I don't like to put my playoff hopes in his hands. NE's pass defense isn't that amazing.

Muhammad could go beserk against the Rams, but Grossman has been playing like garbage lately and this is another VERY RISKY play.

I need to have my lineup set by tomorrow.

    Thanks in advance. :D

  5. I have Tiki as my number one back @ Chicago.

Who do you suggest starting as the number two?

    Mike Bell @ Oakland..

Oakland just plain sucks. The only somewhat decent part of their team is their pass defense.

Brandon Jacobs @ Chicago - Tiki might get some yards, but they might need the big boy to smash it in on Chicago's defense near the goal line.

    Reuben Droughns @ ATL

ATL hasn't exactly been shutting down the run lately. Reub looks to rebound after facing a tough San Diego run defense.

    :D

  6. I'm not quite sure who to start as my #2 WR this week...

    My options are as follows:

    Chris Chambers @ Bears

    or

    Michael Jenkins @ Detroit

Why I would play Chambers: Although I have been saying it all season and it may not actually happen, Chambers is "due" for a good game. More importantly, the Fins might get spanked and Chambers might get some garbage yards (and maybe a garbage TD) after Miami abandons the run.

Why I would play Jenkins: M.Jenkins has scored in each of his last two games. As Vick gets better, so do his receiving options. My opponent is starting Vick this week.

    Opinions? :D

  7. I wouldn't have for sure, you should have looked to trade for a Brees, or Grossman, or hell, Carson Palmer and not given up so much.

In my league, this was the only move I could have made for a QB. The lesser QB's like you mentioned are number one's on some teams. The other decent trade-worthy QB's are on the bench of guys who are never willing to make trades. Thus, I had to bolster one of the worst teams who happened to have Manning (and almost nothing else).

I offered a guy who has the most QB depth (Vick and Bulger) some pretty decent deals (Gore and Coles I believe) for Vick or Bulger, but he wouldn't budge. I guess he is happy having one rot on his bench every week. :D

  8. I tried a different approach this year...I have had nice leads about midway through seasons, made no changes, sat back and my just didn't cut it come playoff time.

This season, I'm trying to go for the throat while I can and if it means taking some risks, so be it.

I also know full well that if I suffer an injury NOW, my team is finished. But I have to assume that I won't and move forward.

  9. my team is doing well so far but i worry about the stretch run.

    QB- bulger, farve

RB- LJ, tatum, maroney, leon washington

WR- holt , chad, roy williams, gabriel

    TE- gates

    k gould

    dst bears

    start 1 qb 2 rb 2 wr 1 te 1k 1def

i was offerd carson palmer and ronnie brown for bulger and either maroney or tatum. i was also offerd portis for tatum straight up. thanks guys i really need your help.

Both of those trades look to be in your favor. Your team seems to be stacking up nicely.

  10. Moulds @NYG

    Williamson @SF

    Kevin Curtis vs KC

    Jenkins @DET

I need a WR3 to start alongside Harrison and Colston. I have Boldin on bye this week. I currently have Moulds and Williamson on my bench and neither of them are lighting it up, though I don't know if Curtis or Jenkins is any better.

I like Williamson the best for the rest of the year, not sure about the rest

I'd go with Curtis in what should be a high scoring affair against KC.

Jenkins would be your next best bet against Detroit...Vick and the Falcons passing game have looked great recently.

I don't like Moulds or Williamson.

  11. I pulled the trigger...I can't sit around with waiver wire scrubs until Hasselbeck get's back...I have scored in the 50's the last two weeks with garbage QB's (luckily I got one lucky win) when I normally average around 80 points...

I feel like Shockey to Desmond Clark is not a big loss at all...Shockey is completely hit or miss..

Obviously losing Holt hurts, but I think his best games of the year are over and I got what I could out of him.

Hate losing Gore as well, but San Fran gets down early and often abandons the run...Gore has also not played a full season and may break down as well...

I think the points I will lose from downgrading from Gore to Drougns and Holt to Coles will be surpassed by the amount I gain from Peyton...

    Wish me luck.

  12. Ok, so my team is pretty deep everywhere except for QB, where I don't even have one legit player at the moment.

I have been offered Peyton Manning for Torry Holt, Frank Gore and Shockey...

I know I am giving up a lot, but I feel like I can afford it.

    Current team:

QB- ???? Big Ben, Carr, and an injured Hasselbeck :D

RB's: Gore, Tiki, Drougns, Dominic Rhodes (soon to be Brandon Jacobs)

    WR: Holt, Coles, Colston, Chambers

    TE: Shockey, Desmond Clark

    PK: Rayner, Carney

    DST: Jags, Vikings

    Current best lineup:

    QB: ??? :D

    RB: Gore and Tiki

    WR: Holt and Colston

    TE: Shockey

    PK: Carney/Rayner

    DST: Jags/Vikes

    if I make the deal...

    lineup:

    QB: Manning

    RB: Tiki, Droughns

    WR's: Coles and Colston

    TE: Desmond Clark

    PK: Rayner/Carney

    DST: Jags/Vikes

I lose a lot of depth with the deal, but I feel like the new lineup (assuming no injuries, ect.) is pretty formidable....

any and all opinions are appreciated...
