  1. Umm if you like food, there is nothing wrong with cooking or enjoying a cooking show. That's my view. If you start watching Top Model or Paris Hilton's BFF, then I might start wondering.
  2. That sounds like a perfect night for me. The Office is my favorite... I'll also add a few HBO shows - Summer Heights High (another mockumentary), Entourage, Little Britain USA. I tend to stay away from the 'serious' shows because they are so over the top. I like House for how sarcastic and funny he can be, but how many times can they advertise this - "House faces his most intriguing case yet", or on the police/investigation shows - "Will this be the mystery that stumps them?" lol. I guess that's why I'm drawn to comedies, they are purposefully ridiculous. If I want to see a 'real' show, I watch History/A&E/Discovery/Nat Geo/etc.
  3. It's never too late to start, haha
  4. Music as a whole is much worse than it ever was. And it all stems from money and record labels - they want the 'musicians' (and note that I'm using that term very loosely) to put out CDs as fast as possible to keep the stream of income solid. They don't care about the art and inspiration behind great music. I have to say, while I like a country song here and there, on the whole I think it's pretty bad. Yea, it may be about boozing and sexing, which we all love, but it has no artistic substance. The good thing is that real music still exists, you just have to look harder than you did before. I really wish I could have grown up in the 60's or 70's, because there were so many legends and great artists in such a short time span. Perhaps it had something to do with those psychedelic drugs..
  5. I'm one of the few people who never got into this movie! I think it's because I didn't watch it every year religiously as a kid, and it's tough to make up for those years now that I'm older. The classic in our family (which we watch every year on Christmas Eve during our pollyanna party) is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Such a funny movie.
  6. Yea, exactly.... Even with a patched up offensive line and limited carries, he has a decent YPC average and 11 TDs. He's proven to be a durable guy who doesn't have much wear and tear (463 carries so far in his first 3 years), so if Del Rio asks him to shoulder the load next year, I expect big things out of him. When looking back to the beginning of the season, I don't know what Del Rio was thinking - not counting the Indy game, he had 24 carries in their first 4 games, where they were 1-3 - and all the losses were by a TD or less. He should have fed him the ball early and often in those games, and the outcome may have been different.
  7. Also agree... You have to start Romo because he could have 3 TDs on any given day. The Jets have a pretty solid run defense so Gore could struggle, while Denver has a pretty bad pass defense. Not to mention Thigpen has put up solid numbers when he has played bad defenses in the past few weeks - SD, BUF, NO, NYJ. Tony G and Bowe are reliable targets for the young QB.
  8. Agreed. Plaxico has historically been the Eagles achilles heel when playing the Giants, so without him in the lineup I think all their attention will be to temper their running game and make the G-men one-dimensional. Particularly because they were burned by them for 219 rushing yards in the first matchup. Even so, they are still a top 10 rushing defense. Jones is healthier, in the top 5 for both rushing yards and TDs on the year, and he has been scorching since their bye week - in that 8 week span, he's had a TD in every game except Oakland, where he still rushed for 159 yards. He's also a threat in the receiving game.
  9. I agree... Denver should be playing for pride (and a bigger divisional lead, man the AFC West is bad) after that embarrassment against Oakland last week. Cassel is going against the best defense in the league - both rushing and passing - so I expect him to come back to reality after two amazing performances.
  10. I like Wells, also Knowshon Moreno from GA. I don't think the rookie RB class will be nearly as good as this year's. There were some studs in the 2008 draft. A lot will depend on which teams draft which RBs. For instance, Chris Johnson had a great situation with Tennessee - a stellar defense, no threatening WRs, a pair of QBs who will never light it up through the air, and a complementary RB in LenDale. Same with Forte and Slaton - Forte was basically handed the job in training camp, Slaton had his opportunity since Ahman doesn't have too much tread on the tires. I think if Kevin Smith, Jonathan Stewart or Ray Rice went to Chicago or Houston, they would be having similar success. I really like Rice, I think he looks like a young Jones-Drew or Westbrook. But they have the three-headed monster there, so his opportunities are quite limited.
  11. Just read about this earlier today. So sad, and quite ridiculous. I don't know what I dislike more - the whole concept of Black Friday, or the fact that all the people who stampeded him acted like animals instead of humans by trying to get a good deal instead of saving a life.
  12. "I know the human being and fish can coexist peacfully" - G.W. But for real, “Strange is our situation here upon earth. Each of us comes for a short visit, not knowing why, yet sometimes seeming to a divine purpose” - Albert Einstein
  13. I have heard about this... in fact I read something about how it's illegal in Delaware because a kid who tried this eventually killed himself - I think it's called Brett's law. His parents claimed it sparked his depression, but considering this is the only widely known case involving this drug (to my knowledge), I'd bet he was depressed beforehand and this might have put him over the edge. Apparently he found that "existence is meaningless" after doing this drug. I've also read numerous testimonials about how people who do this have an astounding spiritual experience. I don't want to downplay what happened to the kid in Delaware because it's tragic, but I think if you're going get incapacitated in any way, you have to be in the right state of mind beforehand. And I'm not limiting that to illegal substances, that would go for alcohol too. Something tells me he probably wasn't in a good place before or when he tried this drug.
  14. Except they don't have a competent running back with Westbrook and Buckhalter hurt, they don't have a FB, their offensive line hasn't been nearly as good in years past, and their receivers can barely create separation. Those two have been bad the past few weeks, but they are also the figureheads and scapegoats for a plethora of problems.
  15. Well if that we're a restriction, you'd be correct... but it's not
