  1. Try to convey to him the importance of balance. That partying is ok but that he needs to keep up the grades and other extracurricular activities. Not only will he feel more satisfied with his life but, and this part is important, he'll get more chicks.

this..... some kids just have a harder time with the brakes part ....

  2.

"She was crying in the principal's office at Creekside Elementary before police arrived Friday. The report says when the officer tried to calm the child, she resisted."

I'll say it again: If you can't control a six-year old, you shouldn't be a police officer.

If you people seriously can't come up with a list of ways to mollify a six-year old girl throwing a temper tantrum that doesn't involve handcuffing them, then I don't know what to tell you people. It was probably a gut decision by the cop, and it's probably going to result in a lawsuit much larger than if they had just placed their hands on her shoulder and told her what was what.

have youever watch a six year old run as fast as they can and slam thier head into the wall.... get up and do it agian.... and agian until they knock themselves out....

  3. I have a friend who's pet chicken just died. It lived outside and would peck on the back door in the morning. They would let it in the house for a while until school/work and put it back outside. It had a name (can't remember).

we had a Guinea like that. on of 30 that lived to about 5 years old. smart sucker.

edit to : the kids named it drum sticks.

  4. +1.

I think I would probably try getting a birdhouse and moving the newest nest into the birdhouse and incrimentally (sp?) move the birdhouse away from the play area. Short of shooting them, they are going to rebuild faster than Sb can keep up so the best solution is probably to encourage them to re-locate the nest in a nicer spot in the yard. $hit, you could probably go to a craft store/hardware store and buy a kit to build a birdhouse with the kids that is pretty simple to construct.

ETA: http://gma.yahoo.com...topstories.html reminded me of this thread.

robins dont like traditional bird houses. they like mostley open and flat. maybe a bird house with out the front on it.

  5. After all the notoriety of this case, if Zimmerman isn't indicted (much less found guilty) I have absolutely no idea why anyone would consider rioting. With civic leaders urging people to remain calm until all the details can be sorted out, there is no reason to suspect things could possibly escalate further.

This is 1992 on steroids, with national attention and plenty of time to let things really boil over.

i was thinken it was more like 80's with the falg buring and protests.

  6. Never equated "that sounds like a personal problem" with Die Hard myself, but I recall it was a common expression added to conversations.

"I have a problem getting up in the morning" , "Sounds like a personal problem". Although I never used the PP expression, that stuff has become too widespread with texting and twitter.

As far as beer being more manly, I suppose it depends on who you ask. Most crap beer (Bud, Busch, Miller, etc.) swilling Americans would think so. But if you drank a Heineken or any other import they'd call them "stinky" or "sissy" beers. Personally I think drinking straight spirits is the most "manly", especially tequila.

People may also consider martinis as more girly because of all the flavored ones (appletini, etc.).

Wine coolers and Zima are still the most girly drinks I can think of, on par with all the fruity drinks (banana daiquri, etc.)

CHIPS AHOY!, now I'm thirsty for some sort of drink and it isn't even 2PM

    frack that PBR!!!!!! baby

  7. I heard one of a woman who was dragged into a van and was clearly being beaten/raped - numerous wittnesses saw and heard it and called 911 - forget the details but basically they either took their sweet old time doing anything about it or didn't do anything at all. And while I'm sure these kind of things are an extreme exception, I do get the impression that the qualifications to be a 911 dispatcher aren't exactly all that high.

This particular dispatcher should be brought up on charges IMO, not simply "placed on leave." Possibly others in his chain of command as well. Being "so sorry" isn't cutting it IMO.

you get what you pay for

  8. Yeah, let's bring back preexisting condition exclusion rules. Those are the bomb! And making it impossible for kids to get insurance if theyre born with issues and live more than a few years with them. Those are even better!!

yah i just love that part.... dont worry the churches will take care of them all...
