  1. Good point on the DEF, I'll for sure think about that on my final draft.

Agreed on this..... and also no need to take a kicker until your final pick, you can add depth on your bench with that 11th pick. Kicker's will not make or break your team....

  2. Do you feel this move would significantly improve your starting lineup?

If yes, then do the deal.

If no, then don't do the deal.

Essentially, you go from CJ to SJax as your RB1 and probably bench S Smith for AJ and still roll with the 3 RB lineup (of course, I am big on moreno this year, so you may opt to bench him instead of Smith and play RB matchups between SJax, Grant and Moreno)

I am HUGE on Moreno this year and am thrilled ot have him as my #3. I think he will finish in the top 12 RB's this year.

  3. this strictly depends on how you feel about SJax. If you think he's going to have a good year, then take the deal.

I think that he has more potential to have a better year this year with the players they added, the guy gets 1800 total yards for the RAMS! lol. I think that i'm deep enough at RB to take a shot on SJAX

  4. We've completed out draft, 10 team, standard 6 pt all td, 1 pt 10 rush/rec yards. QB, 2RB. 2WR, TE, RB/WR/TE Flex, DST, K

I've been offered Andre Johnson and Steven Jackson, for Chris Johnson and Mike Wallace. I think it is a fair deal, but maybe i'm wrong, which is why i'm asking the fine folks at the huddle!

    My Team

    QB- Joe Flacco (8th pick)

RB- Chris Johnson (1st overall pick)

    RB- Ryan Grant (3rd pick)

    WR- Roddy White (2nd pick)

WR- Steve Smith NYG ( 4th pick

    Flex- Knowshon Moreno (6th pick)

    TE- Jason Witten (5th pick)

    DST- Dallas (14th pick)

    K- David Akers (15th pick)

    BN- B Jacobs (7th pick)

BN- Eli Manning ( 9th pick)

    BN- Santana Moss (10th pick

    BN- Marion Barber (11th pick)

    BN- Mike Wallace (12th pick)

BN- John Carlson ( 13th pick)

  5. Not sure if this was the right board to post on for this question, I'm just looking for the differences between keeper and dynasty leagues?? Is it that dynasty you keep your entire team? and keepers have a set # of players you can keep?

  6. Never been a handcuffing game. I see why people do it, just never a part of my strategy.

same here, if the handcuff was good enough to start in place of your #1 on your fantasy team due to injury, in your case, Dixon starting for your team if Gore gets hurt, then the niner's would probably have a RBBC because...I would prefer to use a pick on someone with upside that you can get late, like a Justin Forsett etc instead of Dixon, who even if Gore did get hurt, I wouldn't start anyway...

  7. I am in a ten team non ppr league that starts 2x RB, 2x WR, 1 TE, and a WR/RB/TE flex option. I have the first overall pick in our serpentine draft, and during my SEVERAL mocks that i've done, I am noticing a trend that when I get to my sixth round pick, I am faced with the following scenario. In the first 5 rounds I end up with the same core of players on average.

    Round 1- AP

    Round 2- Roddy White

Round 3- Calvin Johnson or Brandon Marshall or Greg Jennings (who ever is left)

Round 4- Antonio Gates or Vernon Davis (on average its Gates)

Round 5- Knowshon Moreno or PIerre Thomas or Beanie Wells or J Stew, (who ever is left)

Round 6- I am faced with the opportunity to pick up a 2nd top TE, I have the option between Celek, Witten and Gonzalez.

Round 7- I pick up my # 3 RB which has been Addai/Forte/Jacobs/Barber (who ever is left)

Round 8- I draft my QB, Usually End up with Cutler or Manning or Flacco

Round 9- I pick up a fourth RB which is usually Justin Forsett

Round 10- I get Malcolm Floyd

Round 11- The best remaining QB, Usually Matt Ryan

The rest I fill in with the best value left on the board

My question is this, In Round 6, would it be more beneficial for me to pick up a second top TE, instead of a #3 receiver, which usually results in a Mike Wallace/ Santana Moss/ receiver in my #3 spot, where I could plug in the second TE as my flex.

  8. I value everyone's advice on this site, you have me convinced, I'm dropping the idea of getting AJ, and will be going with AP over CJ. Then I will most likely take the top 2 WR's remaining on the board.

    Thanks guys

Considering my leagues set up, what is the best time to take a QB, in all my Mock Drafts i've been waiting until mid rounds 6.7.8 and by the end of the Draft I usually end up with an Eli /Ryan, or Cutler/Ryan or Favre/Flacco combo. I really like the depth I get in return at the other positions if I wait. Should I be confident enough in the QB's i've listed?

  9. You get what you can get.

Minimally, I would want to swap 1st and 2nds and then either get their 3rd for my 4th or their 4th for my 6th. Something along those lines.

But, delusions even pointed it out, in your league setup, there is just such a strong advantage to having a top back that I can't really reccomend this course of action as an ideal path to take, even if you get offered what I stated it would take to get me to consider the move down.

  10. I wouldn't trade down. I'd be willing to trade it for an established player, but in this rookie draft, there's Mathews and then a big drop off in a non-PPR.

I should add this is a non keeper, re draft league, Are you saying I am better off drafting, then seeing what I can get from the AJ owner for say AP or CJ2K and another WR?

  11. I have the 1st overall pick In our ten team league. I am starting to get some interest for trades, as I have let it be known that I want Andre Johnson. With the advice from you fine folks, you suggested that I try and trade down. What should I expect in return if I trade my 1.01 for say the 1.05 or 1.06......

We are a non ppr, 6pts rush/rec/pass TD's, 1 pt every 10 rush/rec yards and 1 pt every 25 pass yards with roster

QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, WR/RB/TE flex, D, K, IDP, IDP. Bench x 6

  12. Well how often if you go WR/WR/WR will you get all three of those guys? I like to go WR in two of the first 3 rounds this year. It all depends on how the draft is going though./

Good question, I will do a few more drafts and find out, I would bet that I could get 2 of the 3 most of the time

  13. A while back I posted asking your opinions on drafting Andre Johnson with the #1 overall pick. I didn't get the answers I wanted to hear!

A lot said to trade down, and I tried that, but noone is biting, everyone seems to be locked into their strategy.

I've been mock drafting, going RB/WR/WR, or RB/WR/RB depending on who is left. So far it seems impossible for me to end up with a top level WR (AJ, CJ, Wayne, White, Fitz, Moss). On average I end up with a combo of Marshall and Jennings, with a Santana Moss "esk" # 3. One time I got lucky and winded up with Roddy White and Miles Austin, but my league seems to be high on Wide outs so I don't see that happening. On the flip side, I end up with a ton of power of RB. I get usually get five of this group, AP ( If I do draft a RB first it will be AP over CJ) Ryan Grant, Thomas, Charles, Addai, Jacobs, Barber, Portis, Forsett.

So for fun tonight I did a Mock draft, and went WR/WR/WR, then RB/RB/RB QB/RB with the first pick overall. This is what I ended up with, now my league starts QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR/RB flex, TE with standard scoring, ten teams but the mock draft was 3xWR without the flex. I am actually considering doing this for one of my leagues. Here was my result:

    QB- Matt Ryan, Brett Favre

RB- Knowshon Moreno, Beannie Wells, Ronnie Brown, Brandon Jacobs, Clinton Portis, Justin Forsett

WR- Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Roddy White, Malcom Floyd, Terrell Owens

    TE- Tony Gonzalez, John Carlson

    D- Dallas

    K- David Akers

IMO, even without a proven #1 RB, I think this team has enough fire power to compete. Now in my real draft, I am debating doing this however where we only start 2 WR, I may go WR/ WR/ RBor QB instead of 3xWR to start.

So am I better off having 2nd tier Wr's? or 2nd tier RB's ? I am high on guys like Moreno and Wells this year, and Forsett I see being the Sleeper of the year!

  14. Hey folks, please evaluate my draft. We are a ten team non PPR standard scoring with QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR/RB/TE Flex, TE, D, K, 6x BN

    1. Matt Schaub

    2. Calvin Johnson (Det - WR)

    3. Roddy White (Atl - WR)

    4. Matt Schaub (Hou - QB)

    5. Jonathan Stewart (Car - RB)

    6. Owen Daniels (Hou - TE)

    7. Brandon Jacobs (NYG - RB)

    8. Reggie Bush (NO - RB)

    9. Santonio Holmes (NYJ - WR)

    10. Eli Manning (NYG - QB)

    11. Kellen Winslow (TB - TE)

    12. Marion Barber (Dal - RB)

    13. Lee Evans (Buf - WR)

    14. Miami (Mia - DEF)

    15. David Akers (Phi - K)

    Probable starters:

    RB1 Peterson

    RB2 Jonathan Stewart

    WR1 Calvin Johnson

    WR2 Roddy White

    TE Owen Daniels

    Flex Reggie Bush

    Def Miami

    K 15. David Akers

    BN Brandon Jacobs

    BN Santonio Holmes

    BN Eli Manning

    BN Kellen Winslow

    BN Marion Barber

    BN Lee Evans

  15. So now that everyone has convinced me that I AM crazy for considering Andre Johnson with my first overall pick, who should I go with. Adrian Peterson or Chris Johnson. Non PPR, 1 pt 10 rush/rec yards, 6pts rush/rec td

  16. might as well trade down and pick in the middle again if you want AJ.

Ya but if I trade down I Lose my positioning as it is a snake draft I get two picks in a row. I don't know, maybe I am nuts. I just feel like there aren't many ELITE WR's out there, and if I pick a RB first, by the time the 20th pick comes along the majority of the likes of AJ, Megatron, WAYNE, may be gone.

  17. Finally after 4 years of constantly picking in the middle of the draft, I have the first pick!

Now, what do I do with it. Is there anyone out there, who thinks I am absolutely off my rocker, if I am considering taking Andre Johnson at #1. The league has developed into a QB WR game, and in my league, we are TD and Pass yards heavy, with 6 pts for a pass td, and 1 point for every 25 pass yards. We are a ten team league, no keepers etc, with the following starters: QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, WR/RB flex, TE, DST, 2X IDP, K.

I've done multiplt mock drafts, and seem to end up with a decent team all around, but I feel like the RB pool is much deeper than the WR pool....

    Thoughts?
