This is a disaster. Why even have the rules and video replay if not enforcing it anyhow? And then make the coaches challenge a play that they can't win anyhow? It's a total disgrace.

On top of that, the team challenging loses a timeout.  This is absolutely effecting the outcome of games on multiple levels.  If the aren't going to enforce it, get rid of it!

  2. The change at OL helped a little against Carolina and Eli was effective.  But Philly's DL is a different animal and they shredded the Giants OL all game.  He had no time to throw and they were triple covering OBJ, so the only safe throws he had were the checkdown and short slant routes.  Eli is not a mobile QB, so with an OL not giving him any time, he's pretty much done.   I don't see them benching him in what will most likely be his final year with the team.  But I wouldn't doubt he gets injured this year and we see a QB change that way.

It's worth it to the franchise in regards to making money retaining a player with his popularity, but will be a disservice to the fans when they continue their current tradition of mediocrity because they can't pay to keep the other decent players on their roster.

That's the way this business works.  If you hit big time on draft picks, you won't be able to pay them all what they want.  I'm sure Landon Collins will be the first big casualty of Beckham's contract.  Manning's contract will be off the books in 2 years.  Highly doubtful he gets an extension.  So, then they'll have money to pay Barkley if he becomes one of the top RB's in the league.  With Beckham and Barkley,  they just need a game manager at the QB position.  Hopefully one of these mid round QB draft picks pans out when Eli is gone so the QB cap hit won't be huge.  Davis Webb has looked good other than that 1st preseason game where he was too amped up and overthrowing the receivers.  Shurmur really likes him and he's a so called QB guru.

  4. He's probably the most marketable player in the league.  He's one of the top young receivers in the history of the game, as far as the numbers he's put up.  Fans come to see him and buy merchandise with his name and face on it because he is THE must see talent in the largest market.  The Giants know this.  It's a huge contract, but when you add it all up, he's worth it to this franchise.

  5. Any updates in New York? I'm starting to lean towards pulling Manning due to the concerns with high winds and play either Palmer, Flacco, or Winston instead...

Yes, it will be cold and windy at the Giants/Bears game today and it will effect the game a bit. But Eli tends to throw short passes and let the receivers do the work because their O-line doesn't give him much time to throw. So, I wouldn't worry too much about the wind with him.

  6. I targeted Bennett in all of my drafts in the mid rounds and have started him weekly in the leagues I drafted him. The price for Gronk was way too high since he was coming into the year injured. In the Patriots offense, a good 2nd TE puts up TE1 numbers. He was a great pickup by the Pats. The rich get richer.

  7. the left tackle was a first round pick rookie LAST year I believe, and wasn't good then, either.

He was a rookie last year. He actually played well last year even though he was forced into playing LT because of so many injuries. They originally wanted him to get his feet wet at RT and then possibly move to LT.

  8. The O-line is killing this offense. Penalty after penalty killing drives and they aren't giving Eli enough time in the pocket. You can see he doesn't feel comfortable in the pocket because he's expecting to get hit. All of his passes are check downs and short crossing patterns. He hasn't had time to stretch the field with his receivers. Until the O-line starts playing better, Eli will struggle.

  9. I've said it before and I'll say it again. His legacy is tarnished by losing 2 Super Bowls to Eli and the Giants. When all is said and done and he's in the Hall of Fame, those are the failures I will remember him by and use as comparisons to the likes of Montana as one of the greatest QB's ever. This suspension will just be a forgotten footnote.

  10. As a Giants fan, I'm proud to have had Coughlin as the head coach for the past 12 years. It's hard to see a guy like him go. But, realistically, It's a move that needed to be done and one that was only a matter of time the way the past few seasons have gone. I think the Giants definitely need more discipline....but with a player friendly coach. I've always been intrigued by Bill Cowher. I think he would be the perfect fit for this franchise.

  11. Denver got down early and KC's run defense was very good. Recipe for fantasy RB disaster. I, for one, will be looking to buy low this week on Anderson from you owners giving up on him. Like others have said, the schedule gets much easier. I still see Anderson paying off for those patient owners. We knew these first 2 weeks would be tough.
