  1. Chiefs want 1st, 2nd, & 3rd rounders for LJ

My whole attitude about players holding out changed dramatically after 2005. Javon Walker reported to camp without a new contract at the start of the season and then blew out his knee Week 1. Drew Brees was given the franchise tag and then busted up his shoulder in a meaningless game in Week 17. Fortunately, it worked out for both of them in the end, but I now have a much greater appreciation for where these guys are coming from as players. Yeah, a lot of these guys are taking home more money than most of us will ever see, but you can't blame a guy in any profession for not wanting to leave money on the table when he's at the top of his game.
  2. My first draft of the year II

Gotta love Chambers at 7.06. I expect him to be a bargain pick in most drafts this season after being overvalued last year. I was a little surprised by the back to back QB selections as well, but every league rolls a little bit differently and at least you minimized your risk by taking both Kitna and Romo. Were you ready to spit nails when Bulger went at 5.05? I would have been!
  3. Northcutt to the Jags

You know, I live in Jax and I WANT to be a Jags fan. I really do. Unforutnately, I don't see that happening as long the current regime is in place. I don't know if there's another team in the league that's worse than the Jags when it comes to judging talent, at least on the offensive side of the ball. At this point, I attribute Maurice Jones-Drew to either the law of averages or sheer dumb luck.
  4. Del Rio: Leftwich will start for JAX in 2007

I couldn't agree with you more. Mediocrity is all we have to look forward to under this regime. The offensive coordinators keep getting the blame, but the bottom line is that the personnel decisions on this team have been a disaster since Coughlin left.
  5. Which RB's to keep ?

Well, just to make it even more difficult, I'm going to go against the grain and suggest that you keep both McAllister AND Bush. If McAllister had this good of a year coming off knee surgery, imagine what he'll do next year. Also, if either Deuce or Bush miss time, you've got a bona fide stud in the other runner. For your fourth keeper, I would go with Maroney. Norwood looks like he could be a future stud as well, but we don't know who will be coaching the Falcons, what kind of offense that coach will implement, or what Dunn's status will be. Bell's had plenty of chances to become the featured back and hasn't been able to hold onto the job, and I'm just not sold on Williams.
  6. Trade Help

I'm not a big McGahee fan, but I just don't think you can afford to do this deal. There are just too many question marks surrounding Dillon and Droughns, and while I still think Glenn has another productive season or two in him, you can probably get a younger and better player with your second round draft pick.
  7. Is Dayne not playing?

Pittman is the guy I would have probably picked up and plugged in as well.
  8. Is Dayne not playing?

Well, that will probably cost me a championship game. Every report I read online leading up to kickoff said that Dayne would be active today, so I didn't have a chance to reset my lineup. I didn't have any particularly good options avialable, but something would have been better than nothing.
  9. Keeper Question

I can't see anyone keeping any of those QBs unless their RBs and WRs REALLY suck, so you should have no problem picking up a quality starting QB in the draft. In fact, you might even be able to get Bulger back.
  10. QB DILEMMA

It's hard to imagine that Vince Young won't get at least one score through the air or on the ground, even against the Patriots. The biggest concern I have with Warner is that he's going to take a LOT of hits. If he has enough passing attempts, he will produce, but he's got to stay in one piece and take care of the ball in order for that to happen. So here's my question for you: Do you need a big game from your QB in order to have a shot at winning or do you just need your QB to get you 10 to 15 points and not bury you? If you need the former, go with Warner. If you need the latter, go with Young.
  11. I can keep any three of these four guys

I agree with the other posters. Fargas has had plenty of opportunities and hasn't done jack with them. Any NFL calibre back that's gets a significant amount of touches due to injuries is going to produce some yardage and a few TDs, but that doesn't mean he's a starting NFL calibre back.
  12. wide reciever advice

I would stick with Andre Johnson over your other choices at WR, and I still think Rudi is a safer choice than Brown in spite of the matchups. Where I really have an issue is with your QB. Can't you do better than Big Ben with all of the turnover at the QB position during the past couple of weeks? I'm thinking of Kurt Warner, Trent Green, or maybe even a guy like Tim Rattay here.
  13. That's a tough call. I would start by eliminating Dayne. He's not a bad option, but I wouldn't start him over a bona fide stud (Gore), a bona fide stud that's had a tough year but may be rounding back into form (Alexander) and a semi-stud that's playing at home against one of the worst rushing defenses in the NFL. I think I would go with Gore and Alexander. Alexander gets the nod over Taylor simply because I have more confidence in the Seahawks ability to move the ball than I do the Vikings.
  14. Week 17 QB decision

I'm with Tega and Pinoles on this one, especially since I'm a Jags homer. The only time the Jags air it out is when they're way behind and I don't see that happening against KC.
  15. Keeper Question

That was my thought as well. There's nothing wrong with giving up a 3rd round pick for Reggie Wayne, and you almost have to keep two RBs in a keeper league. With only three keepers, I imagine that only Peyton Manning and maybe one or two other QBs at the most will be kept.
  16. Need a sub for Colston likely early sit

I think Hackett and Curry are about even. I would lean towards Hackett though, simply because I have a more faith in his QB.
  17. CHANPIONSHIP GAME

I have to agree. You can't just can't trust Big Ben or Rattay (even though I would still use Galloway this week), Warner's weaknesses play into the hands of the Chargers defense, and no one can seem to move the ball through the air against the Raiders. Also, I'm hearing that Coles is VERY questionable to play Sunday and he's the guy that helps Pennington to keep the chains moving. We know Hasselbeck has both the talent and the weapons, so even though he hasn't done much with either lately, I still trust him more than I do the other QBs.
  18. $725.00 on the line. Help me out ........

I'm going to go with Betts as my first choice since he's obviously got the hot hand and the Giants haven't done jack for weeks on either side of the ball. I'm going to go with Johnson as my second choice simply because I think he's the safer play over Brown. You're already up 30 points, so while you still want production, what you really need is a guy that has a pretty solid floor and likely won't lose the game for you. Rudi fits that bill better than Brown IMHO.
  19. Romo or Kitna

Those are both tough calls. I think I would lean towards Kitna as well since it's obvious that Romo has hit a bit of a wall lately. At WR, I think I would actually go with Galloway. I realize the guy adds a whole new meaning to the phrase "hit or miss", but Rattay is a half-way decent QB and I think the Chargers might go with a more conservative game plan if they can take an early lead. Personally, I think they would love to just run Michael Turner at the Cards in the second half and let their defense close out to the game if they can go up by at least 13 points in the first half.
  20. What QB to start

I would go with Green as well, especially if your league's scoring system penalizes turnovers.
  21. Rattay named Bucs starter.

Rattay actually played very well when he was a starter in San Francisco in spite of having even less to work with than Alex Smith currently has. If you're hurting at the QB position this week, you could probably do a lot worse.
  22. 1 point per 10 yards rushing and receiving, 6 points per TD, 5 point bonus for 100 yards, .5 points bonus for every 10 yards over 100. After losing Kevin Jones last week, I need one of these guys: Arlen Harris @ Green Bay Ron Dayne @ New England Lawrence Maroney vs. Houston Chris Brown vs. Jacksonville If Maroney were healthy, this would be a no-brainer, but I'm not sure I trust Belichick. Thoughts?
  23. WDIS @ RB: Harris, Dayne, Maroney, C. Brown?

Thanks, guys. Harris it is. At least he knows the offense inside and out, can catch the ball, and has a decent matchup. If he can just help me get past this round, then Dayne and Maroney should be decent options next week.
  24. Which QB/RB?

Nah, not coming back from an injury. Sure there's a good chance that he'll go off, but there's also a good chance that he'll be limited. If your other options weren't so good, it would be a different story, but I don't think you ever bench Tiki and Jones-Drew has been red hot.
  25. Which TE to start?

I don't bench Crumpler against anyone unless my other TE is Heap, Gonzo, or Gates.
