  1. Thanks in advance for you opinion. I offered Portis for the 1.02 pick. I have no 1st round pick, I traded my 1.07 for McAllister. My keepers are Portis/McAllister/Owens. She picks 1.02 and has PManning/Gates. I'm looking at KJones. Do you think he would be better than Portis? I like his schedule, but him being a sophmore and not proven yet against good defenses as me a little concerned. Portis still put up decent stats (yards) but lack TD (bad o-line), but this year the line is a little bit healthier and Gibbs is changing plays to suit Portis's strengths. According to The Huddle's performance cheatsheet, would you have pulled the trigger. Based on who was kept & not picking until 2.04 & I would be looking at tier 3. So maybe I still might be able to pick up Jordan. 1Ladainian Tomlinson SDC 10 -Keeper 2 Shaun Alexander SEA 8 - Keeper 3 Edgerrin James IND 8 -Keeper 4 Priest Holmes KCC 5 -Keeper Tier 2 5 Domanick Davis HOU 3 6 Deuce McAllister NOS 10 -Keeper 7 Willis McGahee BUF 9 8 Corey Dillon NEP 7 -Keeper 9 Jamal Lewis BAL 3 10 Kevin Jones DET 3 11 Clinton Portis WAS 3 -Keeper 12 Julius Jones DAL 9 -Keeper 13 Tiki Barber NYG 5 14 Rudi Johnson CIN 10 Tier 3 15 Curtis Martin NYJ 8 16 Ahman Green GBP 6 -Keeper 17 Steven Jackson STL 9 18 Lamont Jordan OAK 5 19 Brian Westbrook PHI 6 20 Carnell Williams TBB
  2. Trade Portis for 1.02 ?

I would agree with this when KJones goes against some good defenses.
  3. Trade 1:04 to 1:07

Not too many people trade future draft picks, even less for moving up or down in furture draft picks. You might get some hits if some Dynasty owners chime in.
  4. Thanks in advance for you opinion. I offered my 1.07 pick for McAllister. My keepers are Portis/Owens. He picks 1.01 and has Farve/McAllister. According to The Huddle's performance cheatsheet, would you have pulled the trigger. Based on who was kept, I would be looking at tier 3. I pick again at 2.04, so maybe I still might be able to pick up Jordan. 1Ladainian Tomlinson SDC 10 -Keeper 2 Shaun Alexander SEA 8 - Keeper 3 Edgerrin James IND 8 -Keeper 4 Priest Holmes KCC 5 -Keeper Tier 2 5 Domanick Davis HOU 3 6 Deuce McAllister NOS 10 -Keeper 7 Willis McGahee BUF 9 8 Corey Dillon NEP 7 -Keeper 9 Jamal Lewis BAL 3 10 Kevin Jones DET 3 11 Clinton Portis WAS 3 -Keeper 12 Julius Jones DAL 9 -Keeper 13 Tiki Barber NYG 5 14 Rudi Johnson CIN 10 Tier 3 15 Curtis Martin NYJ 8 16 Ahman Green GBP 6 -Keeper 17 Steven Jackson STL 9 18 Lamont Jordan OAK 5 19 Brian Westbrook PHI 6 20 Carnell Williams TBB
  5. Speaking of Kevin Jones...

KJones has all the right players around him (except QB), but Joey is looking a little better. Rudi is in similiar surroundings. KJones has a little more risk, needs to be healthy and show better play against strong defenses. He excelled last season near the end, but against weaker defenses. Rudi has proved his worth already against good defenses. Safe is Rudi, risky (possibly sophmore slump) KJones.
  6. CuMar or Gonzo

Assuming you start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3WR, 1 TE I would waive CMar. He has been consistent, but he is the oldest of the RB stable and age will catch up to him. He is not worth is this year for a keeper league.
  7. Gonzo and gates vs. WRs

It will vary a little bit depending on your scoring system. In my scoring system based on last years numbers compared to the WRs: Gonzo at #3 Gates at #15 Gates still has to prove that he was not just a 1 yr wonder. Gonzo has already proven to be the best every year.
  8. Trade round 1 pick for McAllister

We are a 4 player keeper league (2 offense/2 defense). Believe it or not, he is not high on Deuce. Deuce did have some injuries last year and that was enough for him to pass. I agree that he will have less than Deuce at 1.07, but since his belief is lesser, the better for me and getting the edge over some or the other owners. My sales pitch, he was going to keep Farve/Crumpler , yes a darn TE (and not Gonzo or Gates) So I convinced him to keep McAllister and accept my trade and Crumpler will still be there in 2-3. TE play was rare last year. We did not require TE, it was a WR/TE choice. This year TE are mandatory, so he must have liked what he saw, but Heap (injury prone), Gonzo (getting older). Thanks for the reply Puddy.
  9. keeper help

That helps. There are more WRs that will be available vs good QBs. Unless you know that someone better than Big Ben will be available to draft, I would keep Ben. If a better QB will be available at your pick, then I would keep Walker. If there is a better WR available at your pick than Walker, then you would only need to keep 2. You listed the best of your bunch Jackson, AGreen Walker. That is not a bad base to build from in a 12 team league. But with PIT's RB stable in huge question, Ben will probably be throwing more, Heath Miller will be his saftey valve. Good Luck. Please respond to my post.
  10. Dunn, Duckett or C. Brown

True that some defenses get more points than RBs, but you will still need to have depth for bye weeks. Tough call, either RBBC or injury prone. I would go for Bennett, due to him being the healthiest (at this point) and having the best o-line and schedule against the run. If you believe that those RBs you listed will still be there in rounds 2-3, then go for WR, TE or Defense. If you go for rookie RB, I would say Ronnie Brown or Williams, Benson in the distant due to CHI QB injury and missing camp (probably will not start until mid-season). It would help greatly if you posted your 5 keepers.
  11. keeper help

Please post your roster. You would get more replies to your question if you posted your complete roster.

  13. Let's see your league sites

Nice DJ. Did make that on MFL then uploaded your website? Or was that done strictly on MFL website features?
  14. NE updates?

    Good news about Colvin
  15. Droughns pulls hammy

And also give Green a shot to compete with Suggs. Hopefully the demotion to 3rd makes him realize that this might be his last shot or at the very least make a good showing to raise his trade value.
  16. I'm in my 2nd year IDP, 1st year BOTH Confusion IDP Dynasty. I'm trying to get my 9th year, 10-team, 2-player keeper redraft, performance scoring league to switch to IDP. I ask for some helpful info to help me make my case. I have 2-yes, 3 more info, 3-no, 1 no decision. They are a conservative group, does not take alot of chances with trades or waiver pick-ups, but they enjoy the combined DT/ST big plays. I'm trying to pitch that we will still have team "Special Teams", but will go LB, DL, DB for the rest of the defense. As far as points, I know that LB are the RB's of the defense. What would the - DL be equal to = TEs? - DL (DE) equal to = WRs? - DB (CB/S) equal = QBs? Their has been alot of talk that most everyone agrees that the DT/ST scoring is a little over the top, I have scaled down the pts already. Due to this, I think it is a good time to move to IDP to give the league a spark and make it more fun for all. I'm they would love it, but are afraid to take the leap. I plan on sending the link to Fusion's top performers last season so they can get a look of overall numbers during the season for starters. I appreciate any help/advice that you have done in the past to get your league to move to IDP. Thanks in Advance.
  17. Raiders Homer Needed ASAP

Atlanta Apathy sent me an e-mail with request to join. I'm not sure if it is filled already, but I'm interested! I breezed over the rules. You mention the draft is tomorrow? What time/time zone? Let me know if this is filled already. Thanks, Tony
  18. NE updates?

I have been searching for news about LB Rosevelt Colvin. He was a highly touted FA signing before getting hurt his first season with NE. He has had almost 2 years to recover. Hopefully he can sharpen his skills and make a strong showing in camp. Any homers with Colvin news?
  19. ROLL CALL - Back for another season!

Understood. I was referring to myself. A Raider Fan in Colorado (Bronco Country). Not many persons outside of Colorado believe that there are Raider Fans in Colorado.
  20. ROLL CALL - Back for another season!

RussMan, glad to see you on the boards. I look forward to your challenges again this season. I'm from SoCal all my life, but transplanted to CO Springs in 2000. Believe it or not, there are quite a few Raider Fans in Colorado. I've been using The Huddle since the late 90's, but did not make use of the forum until the 2000's. Great material & info, great forums and great FF players (for the most part). I joined my first Dynasty League here BOTH "Confusion IDP". A great group of people and we are off to a very good start. A lot of communication compared to other leagues. Hopefully I can at least be good enough to make the playoffs.
  21. Fantasy Etiquette Article

    1) In my league, the commish makes the call. But this year (1st season MFL) I decided to put in the check and balance of giving the owners the option to overturn a commish decision. This given option keeps the whinners quiet. It would have to be a have to be a majority. i.e. 10 team league commish and each owner involved = 3. I have it set up to where it would take the remaining 7 to overturn. We have some experienced players so it would have to be a pretty obvious mistake by the commish to be overturned. 2) In my leagues 9 years we have had 3 commissioners. Usually rotating out about 2-3 years. It can be overbearing and a break is needed. We do have assign a different co-commish every year so that everyone gets their feet wet before deciding if they want to take the challenge of being the commish. Doing this usually weeds out the whinners who question alot of decisions by the commish; (put your money where your mouth is) approach and giving them a taste of being co-commish is very humbling to the whinners. This is my 2nd time being commish in this league. I was commish the first 3 years and know back full circle. The last commish got burned out after 2 years. The position was posted and only 2 ponied up, myself and another guy. Since he did not have the experience, I became commish and he the co-commish. I believe that if you have an established leauge, at least 3 years with majority 80% high tenure, rotating the commish position every 2-3 or more years would be a great experience for all owners.
  22. The Longest Yard Fantasy Football League

Maybe switch from autodraft to regular draft and you will get some interest.
  23. Draft Timer

I want to use a draft timer this season due to the recent move to IDP. There is concern that there will be considerable draft time going from 130 to 240 total players. In the past we have used a chat room for online draft and were not strict with time limits (5 min). But with moving to IDP/ST, I feel the need for a draft timer is warranted. The first 6 rounds ususally do not take up the limit of 5 min. So with adding IDPs I'm thinking maybe the 1st 12 rounds should finish before the max time. It takes us avg 4 hours drafting 130 players, our league wants to finish in about the same time maybe 1 hour more for 240 players. I'm curious to what some of you have for draft timer limits, especially those in fast drafts. Thanks.
  24. Draft Timer

The website will go to a pre-select list from the owner, then when that is exhausted, it will go to a draft tracker page. (According to MFL, I have not tested the live draft yet). It is a nice feature to have, if owner goes over on time limit it will use that owners draft list to make a pick and move on to the next owner. Cuts down on the lag time if doing manually. No aruguing or crying for more time.
  25. Draft Timer

We use to do that when we were all local, but now we are spread across coas-to-coast. I agree that it should not be rushed. My issues are a reaction to adding IDPs this year. I got them to agree, but they are still complaining that the draft will now be longer than in the past. I'll probably go 3 mins for 1st 7 rounds and 5 mins the rest of the rounds. Hopefully they have the issues fix for live drafting on MFL. I really need to get all owners to complete their pre-select lists.
