  1. Kids pay 1/2 of their day care

Now, if they bit their fingernails or sucked their thumb when they were younger, I would certainly charge 'em half!
  2. Kids pay 1/2 of their day care

First off, you may want to check your state laws regarding the age at which you can leave a child unattended for such an extended period of time. In NJ, I believe one of your children would have to be 12 years old. That being said, I believe your motives are good, but I am hard-pressed to believe the $$$ are the best motivator for the yutes. It's only a matter of time, no matter how fiscally precocious you think they are, until they realize "hey, I am not really being punished here". Also, if they are as financially astute as you say they are, they will soon realize that you and your wife are ultimately going to foot the bill for all their needs.
  3. Am I wrong or does State Farm Insurance sucketh?

Polk, If you have served in the military or have Federal government experience, check out USAA for your insurance needs.
  4. 2007 Pre-Preseason Consensus

I think it's more the $$$, or at least the expectations of the $$$. There is no way these odds are based on the merits of the ND team.
  5. 2007 Pre-Preseason Consensus

Ummm, you do realize that these are the betting lines? It has nothing to do with ND being over or under rated, it all comes down to where the $$$ is going.
  6. Michael Vick's career

    +1
  7. Sanctions for Oklahoma come down today

You need serious psychological and/or educational help.
  8. fat tax

Tobacco and alcohol aren't the only "societal" vices that get taxed - luxury items (boats), gas guzzlers, etc. I agree that there are too many taxes, however I also agree with this type of tax, PROVIDED that the tax goes to offset the governmental costs that are incurred by these items (healthcare for example). Unfortunately, I have zero confidence that the government is capable of discerning these costs, or administering the funds appropriately. As for 'dangerous' hobbies, no tax needed, since insurance companies already adjust your policies for this.
  9. Draft picks - Who will be the busts?

Nice post! I agree with all except for Spencer and Bowe. I think Spencer will end up being a solid player. Bowe may struggle a bit this year but I don't think he'll be a bust - unless you're expecting #1 receiver numbers out of a rookie.
  10. fat tax

If you put it on a stick and fry it they will. Would that have a reduced tax rate?
  11. Cowherd's Top Ten Programs of the Decade

I'm no LSU fan by any means, but at least they won a game in 2005.

  13. For You Married Folks Only

Yep - absolutely true. Longest I've gone without is 2-3 months (pregnancy related).
  14. Garbage disposals.

Actually, you will just be manually turning the "grinder" part of the disposal. If it turns, give it a few full rotations to make sure the jam is dislodged. If you are struggling to turn it, you may need to take the disposal out, take it apart (3 screws) and remove the obstruction. My bet is it is a popcorn kernel!
  15. Garbage disposals.

There should be a place on the underside to put the allen wrench, right around dead center.
