  1. US Open looms

US Open.....that pressure? Some of the best drama in all sports.
  2. Bier and myself will be giving some recipies in the thread so you can attempt to as Unateve said-"Cook with a reason other than just eating." One main constant when cooking with aprodisiacs is asparagus. So, we will have some other ideas....but your green is asparagus. We will bump the thread with ideas/recipes throughout June until you have enough "courses" to plan your meal. Since it's for the entire month June you will have options. I will start with a salad first and Bier may salad you or he may give you something else to try your hand at ... Springtime salad of pine nuts and avacados. Aphrodisiacs- pine nuts, avacados and honey 1/2 head of Butterhead lettuce 1 small avacado, peeled and chopped 1 small tomato, chopped 2 tablespoons toasted pine nuts 2 tablespoons alfalfa sprouts 1/4 cup minced red onion 2 tablespoons grated mozzarella cheese 1 tablespoon minced cilantro 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard 1 teaspoon honey 1 clove garlic, crushed 3 tablespoons olive oil salt and pepper to taste Tear lettuce into bite-size pieces and place in a large serving bowl. Add the avacado, tomato, pine nuts, sprouts, red onion, cheese, and cilantro. Whisk the vinegar, mustard, honey, and garlic in a small bowl. Add the oil gradually, stirring constantly. Season with salt and pepper. Add dressing to taste and toss, and serve the remaining on the side.
  3. Inter-Courses the June Edition.

I'll add a few more this week.
  4. New WOK Doing what I can....when I can....Enjoy, and let us know, I have not fired up the Wok in many moons
  5. New WOK

We got ours through a "Pampered Chef" party and it came with a recipe book.......I can't find it now. My sis got a pretty decent one at Barnes and Noble(or any bookstore most likely). I'll check the "PC" website.
  6. We need camp updates

Talk is Minter is not the shoe in starter, but will have to compete with Cooper and Salley at S, as stated, Beason will win the starting job in TC/PS at WLB. McGlover and rookie Johnson are ahead of Rucker now for obvious reasons at DE opposite Jules. Jenkins? He gave up $175,000 to just show up for OTA' I'd say he's done as a Panther. Thomas Davis seems to be setteled in at SLB and hopefully will have a more productive season. Other than stated above....."it is what it is."
  7. Back from vacation--what did I miss?

.....somebody catch me.....I'm going to faint
  8. Father's Day Golf

Don't feel to bad Skippy, my Bro-Law did not cut me one hole in the 27 we played on Friday( and he had 7 strokes per 9), then in our middle 9 hole match the other team was stroking off my ball and I had to give them 5 strokes total.....and I had my worst 9 holes in.....most likely 12-15 years....a 48, combine that with my Bro-Law being the invisible man.....well, I halfed the 6th hole for a 1/2 point and they thumped us 8 1/2 to 1/2. We came to chew bubble gum and kick azz on Saturday....and we were all outta bubble gum, the Saturday round is just 2- 9 hole matches and we went 5-4 and 6-3 to go undefeated on Saturday....a little late. I opened with a triple bogey on the first hole....then shot 82 from the blues in tourney conditions....put the same ball back in my bag that I put on the tee that morning......but that's the fickle mistress called golf.
  9. Packers Nation

Yes. I've enjoyed the video clips of the OTA's, then again the website for the Panther's has always been top-notch. R-How is Favre's ankle? Did he not have some surgery?
  10. Back from vacation--what did I miss?

  11. 1st Draft of Season

Great pick with Duece if you got him late, and I'd say you have RB 2a and 2b with Henry as well, plus either should make great trade bait later if you feel the need in you WR corp which takes a drop after Fitz (IMHO). Jacobsen may be one of the true hit's this year. I'd look to improve your WR's and possibly get another TE to cover for Johnson when he get's hurt again. Some must have hit the QB's and other WR's early for that coral of RB's.
  12. Fun Wagers here at the Huddle.

Tbimm and I had a nice little wager going between the Panthers and Saints last year. Basically you have to send something ethnic from your region(food or drink wise etc..). It was fun and I encourage people to do it.....say Cliaz and Sarge could have a bet for the Boy's vs Skins game etc. Tbimm included some restoration ale in with my Nawlins seasonings and some Hurricane drink mix as well. I did some shrimp up this weekend with some of the Seafood Boil he sent......Old Bay is generic compared to this stuff-excellent!!
  13. Tobacco Road

    .....and of course Kegg.
  14. Tell a Joke Thread

The Panthers 2006 joke in quite awhile from where I was sitting.....what a laugher.
  15. Father's Day Golf

Just finished my Member-Guest up on Saturday, so today is couch time and the US Open for myself. We all work hard to care and provide for our wives and children....sit back smile and enjoy the fruits of our/your labors.....Happy FF to all the rest of the Dad's.
  16. It's gonna be Father's Day!

Happy FF fellow Dad's-let's enjoy our day....shall we.
  17. My first draft this year. What do you think?

The Man Behind the Curtain makes us play nice with noobs nowadays, but it's still the OS, so it can and will get worse. Also, most will throw you some subtle hints to your questions...mixed in with the hazing.
  18. What is poaching chicken?

Sorry for any incorrect info.....the instructions for my steamer calls that "poaching", and I have some "poaching" pans that sit in the water, but the water does not touch the food. I had no fear that Bier would be along to set the record straight.
  19. This is adorable

I for one can not wait until the bullets are for real-this offseason has been brutal....nothing to do with the ribbing, as it's all good, but this team just played bad, underachieved etc.. They are an every other year team and play much better out of the limelight and with a chip on their collective shoulders. Only time will tell.
  20. What is poaching chicken?

Or go buy a poaching pan.
  21. I'm going to play Oakmont.

Golf....just gotta love it. My Member-Guest is tomorrow(Thursday-Saturday)...I'm amped!!!! F and G's baby!!!
  22. I'm going to play Oakmont.

Sweet!!!!! Did I mention that the President of my CC is also a member or CCNC(Country Club of North Pinehurst, and a member of Pinehurst as well). He has a house a on Pinehurst #5 and takes several groups of members up to play the courses. My particular group is going up again on July 21st....and I will play one of the hardest golf courses in the world. I'm a 9 right now, and if I break 100 I'll be happy. Yes, I will tackle #2 from the blue tee's this summer. PD vs The Beast of the East
  23. What is poaching chicken?

Basically you steam it, as the boiling water should not touch it.
  24. Lack of free time...

Sweet and pretty work, it's good to do things like that with the wife. Mrs. PD and I put the screen on the screened in porch last year and then stained the deck floor etc. It was fun then letting her buy the furniture, rugs and little nick knacks to dress it up. We were out there last night chilling with some spirit's and then climbed into the hammock after I got off the Huddle last night. Once again-very nice job
  25. My first call from a Huddler.
