  1. I wanted to bench Ryan vs. Balt last week, but glad I kept him in the lineup. Don't forget the rule, NEVER BENCH YOUR STUDS!!!
  2. I hate CBS, they show the score, that New Orleans is up 14-0, then show that Devery Henderson has 2 catches for 20 some yards. WHO GIVES A FRACK ABOUT DEVERY HENDERSON!?!?!? WHO SCORED THE TOUCHDOWNS??? Idiots. No wonder they air crap like "Everybody Loves Raymond." It's an old ladies network!
  3. All of mine! I came out of the draft with, in order, Portis, J Lewis, A Johnson, S Holmes, Witten, J Stewart, Garrard, Mendenhall, Bulger, Engram, Reggie Williams, Bradshaw, Ravens D, Akers and Kevin Jones. Um, I have JT O'Sullivan as the 11th ranked QB in our league, my top 2 RB's are ranked #11 and 44 (Lewis. Thankfully some dork dropped Chris Perry, so he's ranked #18 now. My top 3 WR/TE are ranked #18, 58 and 59. My kicker is ranked #13. Hey, my D is ranked #10!! Woo-hoo!!
  4. I didn't cut him, but it's looking ugly with 3 starting linemen and the top backup out. He doesn't look promising for this week and I couldn't pass on Cassel, possibly going 0-2 for the year.
  5. The guy in my league who took Brady also didn't take a backup QB. Yes, dumb, even though I was telling him in about round 10 that he might want to take someone like Warner... Anyway, so I have Garrard and Bulger, two guys who look like they're going to have very rough years. I had the 2nd waiver after getting blown out this week. So I debated and debated taking Cassel or Royal, finally deciding on Cassell. So today I'm getting grief for 'taking' Cassel away from him, when I knew he didn't have a QB. This is from a guy who is always in the playoffs and normally a smart/competent owner. Just curious what kind of fallout there has been with your waivers this week- who did the Brady-less guy get, did he biatch and complain, etc.
  6. There are exceptions, and I did put waiver requests in for both Royal and then Jackson, but overall they are very, very risky to draft. Once they prove themselves, pick them up. Every year there are rookie RB's who are FF worthy starters. Only every few years is a rooki e WR worthy of starting regularly.
  7. I'm leaning towards starting him over Garrard and Bulger.
  8. Where did that prediciton article go? I used to enjoy reading it as a primer for the weekend and for my pick 'em pool. It wasn't geared as much to FF as just to a good game breakdown. I liked all of the stats, trends, etc. that the writer used, such as 'Seattle has lost 7 of the last 9 at ....' Bring them back!!!
  9. Thankfully I didn't get him in any drafts, but for what it's worth, here is Yahoo's depth chart for NO. Now I know Henderson is a bust and a 'never will be' player and Copper is just a role player, but being 3rd at the #2 WR position doesn't bode well. WR1 Marques Colston, David Patten, Lance Moore WR2 Devery Henderson, Terrance Copper, Robert Meachem
  10. You should expect a drafted player to at least PLAY. He might have had 1 catch for 5 yds, but at least he should be on the field. How many other drafted players are inactive today without being on the injury report? Unless you're a moran, not many. We got schooled by someone- coach or rankings!
  11. Usually 'inactive' means he's the teams 6th WR. Wow, not what you'd expect for everyone's super sleeper.
  12. I thought there used to be team defense rankings. Where are they now? I think I've looked through each area, but can't find them. Thanks!

  14. I will concur on NFLdraftcountdown and GBN, but for years I used to subscribe to the Sporting News site. Their draft magazine is dated, but their website is always current and has tons of info on players, inside scoops and measurements from the combine, even Wonderlics!
  15. Awesome that he did a Foo Fighters song too! Great halftime show, best since Kiss I think!
  16. The first league I was in was a keeper league and I kept Marshall Faulk. That was '98 when Kordell Stewart was coming off a 32 TD season and predicted to be God's gift to FF. I knew he wasn't going to repeat, so I traded the #1 overall pick for a 1st and 3rd. I think I got Bettis at #3, but Stephen Davis ended up being the steal of the draft.
  17. The same story is being reported on Jsonline.com. Yay!
  18. Meaning Russell won't get the Raiders there. I've always heard him compared to a Culpepper clone and that he can move behind their weak line.
  19. How many scrambling QB's were in the conference championship games?
  20. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I hope the Raiders make him the cornerstone of their OL. But noooooo, the ONLY way to be successful in the NFL is to draft a QB in the 1st round....
  21. If he is a QB coach, he obviously would want nothing to do with Michael Vick, right?
  22. My prime football watching years have been watching Green Bay take Brooks, Hasselbeck, Brunell, etc in mid-late round, develop them and trade them off for a premium. Just seems like the right way to run an organization to me.
  23. But what is your cost for taking a guy in the 2nd-6th rounds? The salary cap hit when he goes "Leaf" on you is minimal. You can actually give him time to learn the system, get stronger and develop before the idiot fans are screaming to see him on the field too soon. Too much goes wrong when you take a guy in the 1st, give a QB more $$ than the average 1st rd pick, push him into the lineup on a bad team too soon (Leaf, Harrington, Carr, etc., etc., etc.) and then scrap him to start over again in 3-5 years because you "MUST" have a franchise QB. Do you realize how often the same bad teams are taking QB's high? Look at SD, Detroit, NYG, Cincy, Wash (THREE in 11 years!), Chi (remember McNown plus most Bears fans hate Rex), SF (drunkenmiller and Smith), Seattle (McGwire and Mirer). It's a downward spiral. THIS time it will be different, keep telling yourselves that.
