  1. rocky balboa

You obviously don't need me to say anything to prove that I'm a huge Rocky fan. I've got to say that I'm extremely happy with the way Rocky Balboa turned out. I would rank it as #2 in the series only behind the original. This movie really plays with your emotions. There are a lot of funny moments (Paulie has a lot of good one-liners), a lot of sad moments and during the fight in the end I found myself shedding a tear of happiness as I cheered Rocky on. The story was good. The soundtrack was good (mostly instrumental "rocky" music). Surprisingly, the acting was pretty good. This is the way the Rocky saga is supposed to end.

  6. Post time

What's the deal with the post time being three hours slow? I live on the west coast. Are you guys using Hawaiian time or something? It is currently 12:38am but the post time will say somewhere around 9:38pm.
  7. PISTONS WIN!!!

Thank God basketball season is over. I hate it when ESPN wastes valuable air time talking about the NBA. Now they can concentrate on the important things in life. The Yankees and the NFL!
  8. FANTASY BASEBALL

The 10th Inning helped me win my Fantasy Baseball league last year. thumbs_u thumbs_u This year, The Evil Empire will dominate the Huddle on the Diamond using it!!
  9. Are salary caps good Or even possible in baseball?

If there was a salary cap, I think they would have to get rid of profit sharing. If they want to make the level of competition even on the field, then the small market teams should not get help from teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, Braves, Cubs...etc. ...and if that happened, I could still see teams like the Yankees, Braves, and Red Sox dominating the league since they could just throw more money into scouting and development than other teams anyway. Sure, big time free agent signings would not happen as often, but there is a reason why the Yankees are able to make such big trades all the time. That's because they have an awesome farm system that keeps pumping out great players.
  10. Maddux to sign with Yankees

Maybe you should stop posting stuff like this in the Pro Football forum, like a newbie!
  11. Arod a Yankee

Texas would be foolish as hell to not get those 2 other players. And if you add over 100 mil to your payroll on 1 player, you bought a player, PERIOD> Hey Sarge, Do you think two years down the road when Soriano is a free agent that he won't get a huge contract for over $100 million? When Texas can't pay that, I'll be enjoying seeing him back at 2nd base for the Yankees!! smash flag ...and that's $112 over the next 7 years for A-rod. Pretty good bargain for the best player in baseball if you ask me.
  12. ARod to Yankees?

A-Rod is the best player in the game right now, but Soriano is not that far behind and he's only been in the league for a few years. So, the Yankees didn't "buy" A-Rod. They traded one of the best players in the game to get one of the best players in the game. You must give credit to the Yankees since they are getting A-Rod at good bargain with Texas still having to pay for $67 millon of his salary. So, in reality, they are only paying him about $112 million for seven years. ...and reports are that Contreras and the minor league catcher are not part of the deal. It is a player to be named later. Which will be a minor league pitcher.

  15. ARod to Yankees?

lol That's the funniest thing I've ever heard....and yes, I'm a Yankees fan. If the last two years have taught us anything it's that even the low payroll teams can beat the Yankees if the cards fall right. Even if they do get A-Rod, yeah they'll have a great shot at winning again, but it's still no guarantee. Especially after they retooled half of their team and 3/5 of their starting pitching staff.

  17. Congrats to the Marlins

As a Yankee fan, I'd like to congratulate the Marlins on their victory. They definitely deserved to win the way they played. They slayed the Giants, shocked the Cubs, and just outplayed the Yankees. They are a great team and they proved it time and again. So much for the high payroll theory. That's 2 years in a row that a low payroll team has won the Series. ...the only negative thing I will say about the Marlins is their fans don't deserve to have a championship title. They didn't support this team all year until they were in the playoffs. If there is one thing I can't stand it's bandwagon fans.
  18. F the Yankees

Ever since 2000 when the Yankees lost to the Diamondbacks, George has been a cancer to the Yankees. He has started getting back to his old ways of being too involved with the team and causing problems just like before their championship run began. Sure, the Yankees will stay competitive, but all of you Yankee haters should not be so blind to see that when George starts causing trouble, the Yankees don't win.
  19. INSTANT MARLINS FAN

Guess someone forgot to tell the Marlins that. LMAO. Yanks suck ass Yet another ignorant remark from the Sarge. If losing the World Series is considered to be "suck ass", I guess the rest of the league are just a bunch of felchers!
  20. Congrats to the Marlins

I've been to the BOB a few times. Although it is a nice ballpark in regards to open space and variety of places to eat, it is nothing more than a blimp hanger with a baseball field in it. It has absolutely nothing on the other great ballparks you mentioned. The fans in Arizona just sit on their hands and are relativiely quiet the entire game. I've been to every type of major sporting event in AZ and if you get too rowdy the fans will get mad and tell you to be quiet because they are trying to watch the game. Unbelievable!
  21. Congrats to the Marlins

Hey Dbaxx, You don't have much room to talk as the fans in Arizona are the worst fans around when it comes to being bandwagoners.
  22. INSTANT MARLINS FAN

What....no post game Yankee bashing tonight. Yeah...that's what I thought!
  23. INSTANT MARLINS FAN

Don't get too excited there Sarge. The Yankees seem to like to give their opponents a little confidence by letting them win game one (just like the Twins and BoSox) before they shut them down and win the series.
  24. INSTANT MARLINS FAN

Actually, you can thank the Marlins for that one. While a Cubs vs. BoSox World Series would have been a dream matchup, a Yankees vs. Cubs World Series might have been even better. ...and if you think the playoffs have been boring thus far, what does it take for you to say it has been exciting? shrug This has probably been the best and most exciting postseason ever!
  25. INSTANT MARLINS FAN

You all blame the Yankees for getting the best players. I guess there should be no blame to the teams that trade away their players to the Yankees (i.e. Boone, Nelson, Heredia, Garcia, etc..) Maybe other teams should try to put a decent product on the field instead of trading away their best players to save money. The Yankees pay a luxury tax and profit sharing to all of the smaller market teams to help them be competitive. It is not the Yankees fault that your sorry ass team's owner just wants to pocket that money and not put it into building a better team. Although Steinbrenner may be an ass at times, he is all about winning. You can't argue with that! So, to all of you complaining little b!tches...get over it!! You can't go on blaming the Yankees for everything wrong with baseball. It has more to do with bad team management and greedy owners. So, have fun pouting and crying while the Yankees bring home number 27!! GO YANKEES!
