Julius Jones Discussion

I am pretty high on Julius Jones after seeing what he did last year in the second half of the season. I particularly liked seeing the 30 carry games, but (and this question might be directed at Dallas homers) what happens this year with Anthony Thomas and Marion Barber in the backfield? I'm thinking of taking Julius at #11 in my draft, but I was listening to Sirius Fantasy Football and they seem to think Julius will lose some goal lines to Thomas and possibly Barber as well. Any thoughts? Thx.

what was A-Train brought in for then?...he'll be the short yardage back to take the load off of JJ...and that will mean an occasional GL vulture here and there...if not half the time...

JJ still has to show me he can stay healthy for more than half a season before I put my worries aside...

I am not a believer in JJ's durability...I think Anthony Thomas will "vulture some TDS...Don't forget we are not talking about a BIG back in JJ...I think the Dallas brass (JJ) is aware of this and they want to keep him healthy for their playoff push :D

especially the fact that he's had to carry the ball 30 times just to reach 85 yds at times...

a back of his build isn't supposed to carry the ball like that if he's obviously not getting past the DL..

Couple of questions:

-Did A-Train get goal-line carries over Thomas Jones in Chicago?

-Doesn't Parcells like to stick with one guy?

A-Train was basically non-existant last year. Occasional carries here and though. He wasn't brought in for too many goal line carries.

Parcells has been know to go with a RBBC when it fits. With the Giants he used Rodney Hampton between the 20's and OJ Anderson as short yardage/goalline. I expect to see something similar in Dallas this year.

Parcells in an interview after they picked up A-Train indicated that they had to work on reducing the number of carries for Julius Jones.

Also, given his problems staying healthy in college and last year, I might take a flyer on Marion Barber late.

RF is right. T. Jones was brought in by GM Jerry Angelo who didn't think much of Thomas.
