ROCKNE
I know it's early to have a draft but we had no choice. I ahd the first pick in a serpentine draft. At the last minute I decided to go against convential wisdom and took Manning over LT. We get 6pts for passing TD's. Anyhow, how'd I do? In order.... Manning Julius Jones Harrison Curtis Martin Antonio Gates Donald Driver Laverneaus Coles Deion Branch Chris Brown Desaun Foster Drew Brees Jeff Wilkens Keyshawn Johnson Travis Henry Labrandon Toefield Marshall Faulk We had to pick 2QB's,3RB's,4WR's, a TE and Kicker before we could use wildcard picks to stock up on different positions. Hugh 0ne
I really don't think you could draft a bad team in an 8 team league unless you're an idiot. Way too much talent to go around. Albeit, your team will probably not be one of the strongest. I think you lack the real studs at WR and RB, although I really like some of your late picks that could work out very nicely, like T. Henry and Toefield.
Ralph Furley
I have to agree with Hugh on this. I think you need one of those top RBs. Maybe a trade is in order?

Hugh 0ne
I thought you were a big supporter of Manning with the first pick? 905961 Not me. Unless your scoring HEAVILY favors QB's, which is not likely. In normal scoring, I'd take Manning no earlier than 4th. With the #1 pick I think LT is a no-brainer. As you see, by taking Manning #1 overall, your entire drafting strategy gets affected, and you lose the opportunity for true studs at other positions. NavinRJohnson
All TDs 6 points, IMO, Manning is a solid number 1 overall pick. Even in a brain-dead 8 team league.
Eagle2003
I honestly don't think you have that great of a team for an 8 team league.
Dirty Weasel
Nice RB picks later in the draft. Overall, not a great team for an 8-man league.
lynch
You have Manning and Harrison and after that you drop to the second teir and below at all spots. Except Gates who is has one great season, and is he in camp yet? Could you show us the entire draft, that way we can look at who you picked over who was available. that will give us a better idea of where you were forced and where you reached it will help you learn a little. ROCKNE
I may be able to trade Manning, Jones, & Martin for McNabb,LT, & Dillon. Would that make my team better?
SLGRAF
"All TDs 6 points, IMO, Manning is a solid number 1 overall pick. Even in a brain-dead 8 team league." Well, since ALL QBs, and not just Manning, get 6 pts per passing TD, I don't get why it makes Manning worth taking #1? You still have the issue where RB is a MUCH scarcer position than QB. ebartender
For an 8 team league I don't like your draft. I won't argue Manning at #1, but I think you are weak at RB and real weak at WR. Julius Jones could be solid but he has only played one year. Curtis Martin should be solid and maybe a little better but he is pretty old. Granted he did it last year but at that age it is difficult to do that once let alone twice in a row. After Harrison your WRs are really bad. Driver and Coles are solid #3 or #4 WRs but you need a #2. I like some of your late picks (Foster, Toefield, Faulk).
ROCKNE
Would you trade manning, jones & martin for McNabb,LT,& Dillon?
ROCKNE
I figured Gates would offset my #2 & #3 WR.
MrGameTime
You did OK! I'm feeling like you could have done better in an 8 team league! But how could you have a bad team, you do have Manning! I just really feel like you're going to need a lot of thinks to go your way to win! WR & RB not home run hitters as a result of taking Manning #
Roo
Would you trade manning, jones & martin for McNabb,LT,& Dillon? 909366 Yes I would. Do that if it's on the table. The leaps you make at the RB more than make up the difference you lose going from Peyton to McNabb. Overall though man, I think you did ok. Taking Manning first always makes things look weak at first glance, as does Gates - but those are both top players at their positions. Swampnuts
Make the trade. The gap between Manning and McNabb isn't all that big, and the gap between Jones/Martin and LT/Dillon is the friggin' grand canyon.
Haskel
Would you trade manning, jones & martin for McNabb,LT,& Dillon? 909366 In a heartbeat. Do it.
wildbluefan
Other than the mistake of Manning over LT with the first pick, you are decent, although mot spectacular ! With LT on that roster , and say maybe T Green or Bulger at QB, you would've been stronger!
Ralph Furley
I thought you were a big supporter of Manning with the first pick? 905961 I am, but that doesn't mean you can't do some trading and get yourself a better RB.
