pork chop express
OK, so I have decided to be the commish in another league. What system should I go with: Sportsline, Fanball, Yahoo, NFL.com or what? What is the easiest and calls for the least amount of work? pork chop express
three votes for MFL. Looks like a winner. Anyone else got any advice or comparison?
The Misfit
If you're looking for "easiest and least amount of work," I'd recommend a free league with fewer options -- Fox looks good on that end, even though it's unproven. Especially if you have any first-time players, they'll have lots of advice and articles that most of us at the huddle find useless, but others will appreciate the simplicity of it. I think I'd pick them over Yahoo or ESPN (the other big free sites). MFL is great because of its versatility/price, but that doesn't sound like something you are necessarily looking for. yo mama
I think Yahoo is pretty easy to use, though not nearly the bells and whistles you'll get with a "premium" service. CBS Sportsline is overpriced: don't use it. I think it comes down to MFL or Fanball. I prefer fanball, but's that's just me.
Hardrocker
You will not find many fans of CBS here. However, my local has run on CBS for 7 years. I am the commish and I like it. The fantasy information is kinda weird sometimes, but I like that. I hope all of my people use it to their detriment...but they dont. Just another opinion. My league has used CBS for 5 years now. The info is bizarre at times. I wouldn't care if we used a differeent site, but a lot of guys in my league like it. I've never had a problem with it, but a lot of people here hate it. The one feature I do like is that it keeps track of all records, rosters, etc. every year. For example, I can go back to 2000 and see what my team was and check out old stats. That is pretty cool.

I remember it like it was yesterday...LT2, Jamal Lewis, Joe Horn...never had a qb all year...played Leftwhich, Couch, Holcomb, Ramsey, Brunell, Testaverde...others. But managed to win it all on an incredible run from those two RB's. Had drafted Jamal in the 5th rd in 2002 making him a keeper. That was his first year back after surgery. Brings back some good memories. :tear in eye:
Thews40
CBS Sporstline F'ing blows... use anything else. Aside from that, make sure you write down everything you can think of, and a way to figure out problems when they arise. On Monday night, a WR catches a pass on the 50 and drops it on the 10... a TE picks it up and scores the TD. The site will probably award the defense the TD and not the TE. Crap like this will freak some people out, and the best way to cover it is to put it to a vote with you being the tie breaker. An easy way is to just go with however the site scores it... period. Also, establish how the waiver wire will be prioritized. This has historically been the only real pain about being a commish once the season starts. One more thing... beotch slap any whiner that cries too much. Be the heavy.... if they don't like it, F-em. Welcome to my world...
HeatSeeker
I switched 2 leagues over to FANBALL. It is very easy to set up and run, and rather inexpensive, espeicially compared to CBS....$60 versus $130. Fanball has all the same features as well. I wouldn't reccommend CBS....msot of us thought it was somewhat of a pain in the *** looking up free agents and things. Good Luck.
Puddy
I've run one league on CBS for years (since it was free). The whole league likes it and yeah it's pricey. For pure commissioner duties and league functionality it works great. I don't pay them for fantasy advice, that's why I'm here. I am in a Huddle league on MFL this year. It sure looks like a great site and everyone here always raves about it. Less than half the price of CBS...
Roo
I too use CBS and like it so far. We switched over from Yahoo, mostly for all the extra features, which are fairly extensive. For simplicity's sake, Yahoo is quite nice, and pretty simple to use. I noticed they changed their whole design this year, and their stat tracker interface is 1 year old. It generally works fine. pork chop express
People, gracias for the info and advice. Looks like I'll likely flip a quarter between Fanball and MFL. This is pretty much the second league for the majority of us and I am going to try to venture out and try something different.
