jackoncape
When I try to explain the rationale for reducing a passing TD to 4 points rather than 6 in a Traditional, TD-only scoring system to reduce the dominance of the QB, I get a lot of blank stares. :doah: Can I hear from guys in Leagues using similar scoring systems what rationale they use to support such a change ? Thanks guys. Jack

Jack 904621[/snapback] we do 6 pts and up to 9 pending on the distance...and then if the QB runs it in, they get anywhere from 9-12 pts per TD... people in my league seem to like it alot.. Sigalf03
Some people are against the idea mainly because they are used to 6 points. If you are having problems convincing them to go to 4 maybe you can try to go with points per reception, it has basically the same effect and might be easier to convince the rest of the owners
The Misfit
I'm one of those who believes that the scoring system really doesn't matter much, but if you want to change it, I'd just explain that under your proposal, three passing TDs equals two rushing or receiving TDs. Then either show them the stats from last year (Top 3 QBs: Manning-49 TDs, C-Pep 39 TDs, McNabb-31 TDs; RBs: Alexander-20 TDs, LT2-18 TDs, Barber-15 TDs; WRs: Mushin-16 TDs, Harrison-15 TDs, TO-14 TDS) or have simple multiple-guess questions: Which guy has a better game? 1. A QB who throws two TD passes? 2. A RB or WR who catches two TD passes? Would you agree that a 3-TD game for a QB is more equivalent in performance to a 2-TD game for a RB, or a 3-TD game for a RB?
