Would you draft a RB or a WR here?

12 team - 4 player keeper league.

Say you go into the draft solid @ RB (Start 2 RB start 3 WR) w/T. Bell & KJ as keepers. You also are either ok or very good @ WR1 (deal still pending) w/D Jax or Chad Johnson.

Do you draft a RB or WR 1st when you have WRs like H. Ward (possibly), Boldin, Coles, Burleson, M. Clayton (TB), D. Bennett & C. Chambers out there & RBs like Cadillac Williams, Ronnie Brown, Arrington, Chris Brown & M. Bennett out there?

In a 12 team league, I'd opt to go RB with my first pick. You're gonna need that back-up for bye weeks and to cover for possible injury. 12 teams "X" 3 RB's "=" 36 in a 32 team league (NFL). I'd rather have a stong back-up that plays versus an RBBC, 2nd string, part time player back-up.

The draft possibilities seem skewed to me. Are all of the top receivers already kept? And assuming your deal goes through, you have three good WR as well as 2 RB?

IF that is correct I take RB. You need the third one in case KJ doesnt hold up or in case Bell is overtaken or missteps. I think you need another RB here, but thats just my opinion.

Good Luck

Yes, all top WRs are kept. No, if the deal goes through my keepers look like this...P. Manning, KJ, CJ & 1 of the following - Bell, Jordan or none & get to pick early.

If the deal does not go thru it is.....P. Manning, KJ & Bell. I then either take an extra pick or add Jordan or D Jax as keeper #4.

If the deal goes through you keep

Manning

KJ Bell/Jordan (or keep extra pick)

CJ

If the deal does NOT go through you keep

Manning

KJ/Bell

Extra pick or Jordan or D Jax

SO what are you giving up to get Chad Johnson? Isnt that what you are really evaluating.

That said, if you have CJ (deal goes through) but you need three WR. I take the Best WR avail, but I dont leave a potential future RB STUD if he gets left out there.

edit to add that I that the added info of keeping Manning is pretty crucial. and pretty good...

I'd be giving Jordan & 1 of Fitz or D Jax to get CJ.
