slimshady31
Fellow huddlers, Am in a 10-team, 2-player keeper league this year. Draft lottery was held and I fell all the way to the #9 slot. Actual draft not for a few weeks but wanted to get some thoughts on first 2 draft slots (#9, #12) strategy. In the past, have always stuck with best available RB-RB and it's worked out. However, this year with keeper league in effect, do I abandon that due to my draft position knowing full well that RB's will be flying off the board quickly? Do I 'settle' for the likes of DD or Portis or KJ at the end of the first round and be happy with trying to get 2 borderline Tier 1/top of Tier 2 RB's? Haven't had much of a chance to 'buff up' yet on the player positioning and mock drafts, so anyone in this same slot in their draft let me know how you came out and why, if you have drafted already. TD pass-4pts TD rush/receive-6pts 1pt for each 25 pass yds/1pt for each 10 rush/receive yards Bonus pts for # of receptions

cdj7k
personally, i have done well with that late pick grabbing one of the top two WR's and getting my first RB on the comeback. then take a solid young back that should be available in the 3rd. with the depth at runningback i want virtually guaranteed points from at least one of my receivers. i got killed in the past with middle of the road receivers after drafting RB/RB late in the first and early in the second. just my ol' opinion. peace

I also like drafting at the end of a snake draft, but I think you must take a top WR on the turn-around (12) pick. Taking two second-tier RBs, considering all the top-tier WRs will be gone by the time it's your pick again, usually dooms you to a season of mediocrity - especially in a 10-team league that gives you bonus points for receptions. darin3
A stud WR / Kevin Jones combo wouldn't be too shabby with those picks.
Hugh 0ne
A stud WR / Kevin Jones combo wouldn't be too shabby with those picks. 906947[/snapback] Problem is, the "stud" WR's all have some question marks, hurting their value imo. Owens and his contract, Moss catching balls from Collins, Harrison ain't getting any younger. And I just can't quite see drafting CJ or Holt ahead of those RB's. Whaddya think? Roo
Do what you know is right, grab the best two RBs at that slot. Chances are, with a little thought, you'll land at least 1, if not 2 studs. This year, being near the first turn is kind of hot.

cdj7k
the other reason i would draft a receiver it that it is a keeper league. and i think owens is the one to snag even with his personality disorders. peace

D Davis might be a worthwhile addition to KJ ... he certainly won't be there come round 3 if he is there at the swing.
rpoet
I would give some advice unless this is "slimshadyesquire" - who's team (actually single-handedly Priest Holmes) knocked my previously unbeaten team out of the playoffs two years ago - if you are not one of my arch rivals - sorry for my lack of advice.
