DuckSurprise
In my 12 team, redraft league, starting requirements QB,RB,RB,WR,WR,TE,K,DEF - I am picking at 10 overall and was thinking of going RB, WR, WR - does anyone think Staley is an acceptable RB2 to take at 4.03? my team might looking something like: 1.10 Deuce 2.03 Moss/TO 3.10 Reggie Wayne/Andre Johnson 4.03 Staley Any thoughts? steeler
What are your scoring rules? Staley's value drops significantly in a TD heavy scoring system. Regardless, I like Staley more as a #3 than a #2 because Bettis is likely to vulture TDs again.
rhippens
i personally like to get 2 running backs with my first 3 picks, but if the value is there, the rb,wr,wr strategy isn't terrible. but if i were you, at the 4.03, i wouldn't get staley. i would go after 1 of the rookies like cadillac or arrington. staley should hang around for a little bit longer. if the bus wasn't still playing, i would be higher on duce. Hugh 0ne
I wouldn't want to bank on Staley as a #2 back for 2 reasons: first, lack of TD's, second, injury history. He's already banged up this pre-season and is missing practice(s).
DuckSurprise
Thanks for the opinions - I see the problems with him, just he was on course for something like 1800 yds last year before getting hurt which is often the issue with him, fragility. Perhaps one of the rookies would be the better pick here
unusualsuspects
I am a huge steeler fan, but I would not pick Staley with the 4th pick. I think you could get a better and "safer" RB in the 4th over Staley, If you want a steeler, Bettis may very well be there....
BRUISER
I would take a chance on a young guy over Duce. SOmeone like Arrington or Benson or even Tatum Bell before I would take Staley.
