SLGRAF
I have the 2nd pick in my ten team redraft league. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 PK, 1 Def. So, I also pick 19th and 22nd. I am settled on one of LT/Alexander at #2, then, if Culpepper is still left, him at #19, and a RB at #22. But, if Culpepper is gone by #19, my plan is to wait until pick #59 to take a QB, as I figure a max of nine QBs will be off the board by that time. So, I will miss out on guys like McNabb/Bulger/Favre/Green/Hasselback, but, will be looking at guys like Brees, Collins, or Brady. Is this a sound strategy, or, is there a bigger dropoff from the 2nd QB tier to the 3rd QB tier than I am thinking? i.e, would it be smarter to draft one of Bulger/Favre/Green at #39, or one of Brees/Collins/Brady at #59? DamDarDan
Look at it this way... the drop off in QB from tier 2 to tier 3 is roughly 15-30 pts or 1-2 pts a week.... The drop off at RB in the same range is more significant. Projections (6pt passing TD) Tier 1 QB - 475pts (Manning, Culpepper) Tier 2 QB- 370 - 390pts (McNabb, Favre, Green, Brady, Plummer, Bulger) Tier 3 QB - 335-360pts I would take my chances on someone like Palmer being available that late... I believe he will fall in drafts this year, yet be a top 10 QB
Big Country
I almost always wait on QB. I know he is going that hgih, but I don't think I would take Cpep that high even if he was available. The gain you get from him over a 4th-5th round or later or QB is much less than what you lose by passing on an RB or top WR at that spot. In a 10-team draft I just did, I had the #2 pick and got Alexander, Chad Johnson and Ahman Gree nfor my top 3 picks, and got very lucky that Hasselbeck slipped to me in the 8th or 9th round... I would rather have my RBs and WRs set and go with a solid contributor like Brady or Palmer at QB then have to count on a Warrick Dunn to give me points each week. They should just hand you the trophy right now.

I'm in a 12 team 2 keeper and drafting 11th. I'm looking to take Trent Green in the 1st and Benson in the 2nd because all the top tier RBs and WRs are gone! I'd be lucky to get Bennett, Bell, Ward, or Burleson in my league.

Congrats - don't you feel all warm and fuzzy? 2 stud RBs + 1 stud WR and a 3rd Tier QB will likely = playoffs, barring major injury. Now, obey the '30/70 rule' and spend the other 70% of your pre-draft time studying up on those sleeper WRs and RB depth to dominate those mid-rounds. (Ya know, the strategy that says everyone's top 3-4 rounds cheatsheets all look the same, because its true, so don't spend over 30% pondering the studs.) And resist the urge to get a 'sure' PK or Defense until at least the 11th round. Run along now... Have fun!

Steelhead
Him or Bulger. I'm a Steelers homer but I've only had Ward the year he blew up. Here are the keepers in my league. I've got Harrison and Green. Since our 1st RD is like a 3rd round there are very few top tier players available. Here are the keepers in the league by team: Corey Dillon Byron Leftwich Eli Manning Deuce McAllister Rudi Johnson Julius Jones Edgerrin James Domanick Davis Steven Jackson Terrell Owens Dante Culpepper Ladanian Tomlinson Reggie Wayne Brett Favre Lee Suggs Clinton Portis Shaun Alexander Michael Clayton Peyton Manning Randy Moss Donovan McNabb Priest Holmes Willis McGahee Kevin Jones Andre Johnson Roy Williams Larry Fitzgerald Ahman Green Marvin Harrison
KUBJPO01
you should be able to get one of those QB's you mentioned in the 4th round so, I'd change my strategy rather then waiting till end of 5th
Big Country
Now, since there was some interest, here is the final results of my team in the draft I was in... lol.. I got Hbeck in the freakin 11th..... I know my TEs share a bye week, but Jolley was to ogood of a value to pass on and I figure if he performs as I think he may, I have good trade bait to upgrade at another position and get a bye week TE.
