ROCKNE
With Perry looking good in camp is there any concern about Rudi losing goal line carries or even RBBC? Does Rudi's value drop?
ROCKNE
Any thoughts?
cliaz
I doubt it. but you never know. I just can't see rudi loosing touches to him. Remember Ron Dayne looked good in preseason last year and in camp.
Roo
Yeah don't jump to any major conclusions with all of this preseason reporting and rumoring. Perry is solid RB, no doubt, but Rudi is still #1 in Cinci and hasn't done anything (that I know of) to lose his job or carries.
piratesownninjas
To play the devils advocate here... Cincy did spend a 1st round pick on Perry, who was amazing in his senior year at Michigan. I honestly think if he's recovered from his sports hernia, that he'll cut into Rudi's touches... Not enough to merit a big drop for Johnson, but I think Perry makes his way out onto the field a lot more than most people think.
gd74
Ive read reports that at most Perry will go in on a few third downs for what it is worth...
Balzac
Hard to say - I think it all depends on how Perry performs in limited action during the first few games. As someone stated above, this guy WAS a first round pick before he got hurt, so the Bengals saw something in him that they really liked. He's got serious skills and will likely be a more complete RB than Rudi soon enough - will that be this year? I doubt it, but it's possible.
