Funky Plutos
Initial dynasty draft...I already have this roster: Kevin Jones Lamont Jordan Torry Holt Darrell Jackson We start: 1 QB 2 RB 2 WR 1 TE 1 RB/WR/TE 1 K Stumped with which direction to go at my 5.7 pick (I also own picks 6.6 and 6.10 in the sixth round - pick 7.7 in the 7th and no 8th rounders). The draft has been RB heavy so the only RBs left are from this group: Kevan Barlow Chris Brown Travis Henry Lee Suggs Fred Taylor Should I go to get a third RB or should I draft Joe Horn, who is a great value but 33 years old. It is a point per reception league and QBs get 6 pts per TD pass (Bulger is still available as well). What do you think?
SLGRAF
I'd take Horn at that spot, unless a QB I like was available.
Adrenaline
I'd take Bulger.
Fenokee
Horn would be immediate help, but if you're building for the long term, I'd go with Bulger. You've already got a strong starting WR corps and with 6 pts for all TD's, the QB will be a major factor in your leagues weekly scoring. yo mama
Since you are only required to start 2 WRs, the two you have already are very good, and WR is the deepest of the skill positions, I think you have to pass on Horn. Barlow is the best #3RB of that bunch. However, Bulger has tremendous upside at that spot. He's done a fabulous job of cutting down on INTs over the last 3 seasons and should continue to do well in the Rams' pass-first offense. There are two critical elements to your decision at this point: (1) of the teams between your 5.7 and 6.6 pick, how many of them have QBs on their roster already; and (2) what other QBs are also available. If every other team between your 5.7 and 6.6 have QBs already, then take Barlow now and gamble that Bulger will still be there at 6.6. If X amount of teams between those picks still need QBs, but there are X plus 1 QBs you'd be happy with, then you can still take Barlow. However, if Bulger is the best QB on the board and there are a lot of teams between 5.7 and 6.6 that still need QBs, the you take Bulger. Don't sweat the flex spot too much. You've got the rest of your draft and the waiver wire to help you fill that spot with the most productive player possible, assuming Barlow isn't that guy, or you go with Bulger instead.
