jimerc21
So it's not as easy as just having the #1 pick and living with it. I basically have the #1 choice of any position in the draft order I want. So since it's a 12 team league, I can pick 1 through 12. I'm tempted to just go w/ #1 and take LT and not look back. However, I'm not sure I want wait that long for my second pick so I'm mulling over going later. Any ideas/strategies you may have are welcomed. Thanks! SLGRAF
"I'm tempted to just go w/ #1 and take LT and not look back" Go with your first instinct. LT2 is an absolute stud. And, at #24, you should still be able to draft a solid #2 RB, along with a solid #1 WR at #25.
lynch
If you take the first pick you get the most reliable RB in the league. If you drop back you get a solid Rb with a shot at another very good one. At the one spot you will have a lot of talent available at th 24-25 spot and that is the way I would go. I just would rather have my first choice in my hands and not hoping that so and so would fall to me.

jimerc21
Thanks for the input guys. Just a quick FYI that I failed to mention. It's a keeper league and the following RB's are keepers. Not sure if this affects your thoughts... Tiki K. Jones Mewelde T. Bell Droughns L. Jordan C. Martin J. Jones D. Davis W. Dunn S. Jackson
i_am_the_swammi
Take LT and run. Assuming you are married to taking two RBs with your first two picks, the RB draft at 2.1 isn't gonna be a whole lot better than the guy you'd get at 2.12. If you are looking at taking two RBs with your first two picks, think of it this way: There are 24 picks in the first two rounds. Of them, 2-3 will be QBs (Manning/Culpepper), and 2-3 will be WRs (Moss, Owens). Assuming those guys are taken early 2nd round, you are essentailly looking at the difference between about the 15and 20th best RB as your 2nd RB. TO me, those guys are probably the same. But the difference between LT and the 10th-to-12th best RB is huge. Also, know that guys who have good keepers (Jones's, DD, Jackson) probably won't be taking RBs with both their first two picks, so even more RBs could fall to your 2.12 position. Zooty
I would be tempted to drop to 9 or 10. I am picking 7 in a 12 man and frankly the choices stink. Drafting high its a long wait and other than LT not great value to justify waiting 20 more picks. Its a question of would you rather have 2 players in he top 13-18 or #1 and a pair at 24 & 25? I think with the over all depth at RB and equality at WR that the swing spot at 12 may be pretty good this year. At 1 and 24 it could be LT & Lamont/C-Mart type or the Joneses at 12 & 13. Pitbull739
I have the same situation with my choice of draft position. If only I would have that flexibility of position with the wife! Back to football. I am taking LT2 at #1 without hesitation. At 20/21 I will grab the best RB and WR out there and look for value from there on out. Since it is a TE mandatory league, I will cross my fingers for Gonzo or Gates at #40/41. They will likely be off the board, so I would hold off on TE and go with value at WR or RB again. Will likely wait on a QB unless CPep falls to me at #20. Best of luck, and enjoy having LT2 on your squad this year.
Wizards
Who is your keeper?????
westvirginia
Definitely take LT2, especially if you can keep him but even if you can't, I just don't know why you wouldn't want the best FF player in the league on your team.
gimpster
At 1 and 24 it could be LT & Lamont/C-Mart type or the Joneses at 12 & 13. 912353[/snapback] C. Martin, K. Jones & J. Jones off the board per the original poster's keeper list. Swammi has it right. Take LT2 and run.
jimerc21
Great feedback guys. Unfortunately, I'm one of the few teams in our league w/out a RB keeper. Thanks!
