playsccr
im in a 12 team non keeper, 6 pts for all tds...i have the 3rd pick overall...the 2nd overall guy wants to take a qb and i want a rb....i can guarantee him the player he wants at 3 if i move to 2...but since i know who he wants (manning) and i would probably take alexander...is it better to stay at 3 and take alexander or secure alexander at 2....? the question is, is it better to move up a slot to get a player i know i can get at 3? serpatine draft.. thanks i believe LT goes #1 Edited August 8, 2005 by playsccr
canman1104
Who is the guy at #1 going to take? If he takes LT then trade to get what you want.
T_bone65
If you know for certain the #2 is going to take Manning then I would stay right where you are. I am sure he will want more then just swapping 2nd and 3rd picks.
Big Country
1. Is the #2 guy definitely taking Manning? 2. Do you care who you get out of LT and Alexander? If the answer to #1 is YES and the answer to #2 is NO then don't trade. You are moving up unneccesarily. If the answer to #1 is NO and the answer to #2 is NO, then do trade up to secure the RB you want just in case the #2 guy does not take Manning. If the the answer to #1 is YES and the answer to #2 is YES, don't trade, as getting the #2 will guarantee you nothing as you still get the 2nd RB taken. If the answer to #1 is NO and the answer to #2 is YES, only trade IF you rate Alexander and LT well enough ahead of whomever you would take at #3 to warrant moving up, as you are still not guaranteed ofgetting the RB you prefer of those 2. This is the only "depends" situation that will require deeper thinking to figure out if trading is the correct move.
Big Talker
I see no reason at all to trade up if you know the guy wants Manning and you want someone else.
