Squeegiebo
Okay folks. Final major of the year, and I need to submit my lineup of 5 before the stroke of midnight tonight. My choices are: Tiger Woods Padraig Harrington Darren Clarke Luke Donald Lee Westwood Peter Lonard Brad Faxon Hunter Mahan Stephen Leaney Jose Maria Olazabal Steve Elkington I'm thinking Woods, Harrington, Clarke, Donald, and Elkington. But I'm still thinking about Lonard or Olazabal instead of Elk. Any thoughts?

Down Goes Frazia
well you wouldn't listen to me a month ago @ St. andrews....... why would I waste my time again. I'll do some research & get back to you. Edited August 10, 2005 by Down Goes Frazia
Squeegiebo
Westwood drives me crazy. When I play him, he sucks. When I don't he does well. Same goes for Olazabal. Why do you suggest them - just a hunch, or for a particular reason? I feel pretty good about Donald. I think he has the game to compete with the big dogs, and I read this: ADVANTAGE DONALD: Luke Donald has a slight advantage over the rest of the PGA Championship field at Baltusrol. He played the A.W. Tillinghast-designed course during the 2000 U.S. Amateur.

I can't recall much about Baltesurol (I hacked that up) to give advise on who's game fits that course. I hear what you are saying about Westwood, watched him play in the Ryder Cup last year and he played real well when I thought he was a weak link for the Euros. I think there is more reward to risk with those two then Luke. That's all.
Squeegiebo
Partial hunch, partial Olazabal seems to nut up in majors. 919822 Except the Masters this year - the one Major in which I actually started him. Thanks for the advice! Edited August 10, 2005 by Squeegiebo
Down Goes Frazia
baltusrol is not the same course it was in '93 when Jansen won the US open there. It's way, way, longer....... WAY longer - advantage long hitters. your 1st. 4 are locks IMO woods, clarke, paddy & donald. olazabal has been rock solid this year..... nothing flashy but cashing paychecks regularly. i ain't got the nads to suggest lonard....... and i basically share the same thoughts on westwood that you do. although he's not long....... he's so good from 200 & in that I still like him. Olazabal

Squeegiebo
BTW Squeeg....... team DGf for the pga is woods, dimarco, perry & leonard 919918 You said Olazabal last time, I didn't listen, and dude finished top 3. I'm listening this time. Olazabal it is. Your lineup isn't exactly full of long hitters for that monster course, but I do like that Woods kid. He's really gonna make a name for himself someday. Go Tiger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
chiefjay
Elk's -3 through 4, sorry Squeege. Edit to add, Tiger +2 through 6. Course must be tough, a lot of high scores out there. Duval just can't get it back. Edited August 11, 2005 by chiefjay
