darin3
I know there are Huddle leagues for baseball & hockey, is there one for fantasy hoops? 991422 Not that I know of, but me and Big Country are certainly interested. And with as much as Asz yips and yaps about basketball, I'd hope he would be in, too. I always play on ESPN.com ... but their basketball content (and fact that their football has got off to a rough start) has made me think twice. Perhaps I'll do a H2H on ESPN w/ randoms (gotta keep my ESPN Fantasy Games rating up ) and a roto with y'all. .... Let's chat about it as the season draws closer. KevinL
Checking Yahoo fantasy league info: We can be head-to-head or total points. Points might be fairer as it would reward the highest scoring team, not the team that got the lucky breaks, but head-to-head match-ups are fun. We can have 4-20 teams. We can have a player acquisition limit of 40. We can have a maximum games per position of 65-100, probably 82 is best. We can have the following options for a lineup: Point Guard (PG): 0-5 Shooting Guard (SG): 0-5 Any Guard (G): 0-10 Small Forward (SF): 0-5 Power Forward (PF): 0-5 Any Forward (F): 0-10 Center ©: 0-10 Utility (Util): 0-10 We can use the following stats: Games Played; Games Started; Minutes Played; Field Goals Attempted; Field Goals Made; Field Goal Percentage (Rotisserie, Head-to-Head Only); Free Throws Attempted; Free Throws Made; Free Throw Percentage (Rotisserie, Head-to-Head Only); 3-point Shots Attempted; 3-point Shots Made; 3-point Percentage (Rotisserie, Head-to-Head Only); Points Scored; Offensive Rebounds; Defensive Rebounds; Total Rebounds; Assists; Steals; Blocked Shots; Turnovers; Assist/Turnover Ratio (Rotisserie, Head-to-Head Only); Personal Fouls; Times Fouled Out; Technical Fouls; Ejections; Flagrant Fouls I would like to do a slow online draft starting around mid-October. If you are interested, please reply here and make any suggestions as to league format. Entry fee will probably be $20.
KevinL
I like an 8-player roster: PG, SG, SF, PF, C, with G, F, Util. I like the following categories: FG % FT % 3 Point Made Points Rebounds Assists Steals Blocks Turnovers Is 9 categories cool? Do we need more? Less? darin3
Head to head or roto-style category rankings? 1005452 Roto ... if we do H2H, I'll have to rack my brain and/or go back to my ESPN fantasy archives to see what stat cat's we used. darin3
Kevin - looks like we can sign up for a league! I suggest we run it H2H. Here's how ESPN scores its H2H leagues: http://games.espn.go.com/content/fba/2005/...page=h2hscoring Same 8 as in normal roto leagues. We could add something like turnovers or offensive rebounds as a 9th category to eliminate ties. To get over the "lucky win" factor, we could divide the pot in half. League high scorer gets one half of the pot, and 1st/2nd place finishers after playoffs get 75% / 25% of the remaining half. Make the ante $25. Or... $250 pot - $75 to high scorer, $125 to winner, $50 to 2nd ... something like that. We should try and get our 10 ASAP. I can sign us up on Yahoo. Running list of owners: 1. darin3 2. KevinL 3. Sgt. Ryan 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. Edited September 20, 2005 by darin3
darin3
9 cats is perfect, because you want to get a win, not just ties. Instead of turnovers do O Reb and D Reb, and ditch total rebounds.Offensive rebounds is like holds in baseball. Its brings in more players, and specialists. Turnovers is like Fiedling %, completely sucks 1005587 Agreed...
KevinL
I actually like TO. But OR & DR would be fine with me also. And I think 10 is too small, I would hope we can get 12 or 14 owners to join this league. I can set it up, obviously I have looked into Yahoo to get the available categories / options, I was just waiting to get a consensus on some of the configuration details. I don't like TOs, rather do rebounds.
chiefjay
I'm in and my two cents to stat categories. FG% PTS REB Asst Steals Blocks FT% 3 pointers TO's Which I guess is the same list as Kevins and shot down already. Also, would like a couple more open positions, maybe another Center and another Utility?

Let's see what our other league matest think as they sign up. Edit: Would NOT like another center position. The position is thin enough as it is. Another "utility" guy would be fine, though. 12 teams would be my max. As it is, we're gonna have difficulty finding 10. I know Big Country will be in - he's just been busy @ his new job and probably hasn't been here all week. KevinL
To clarify, I was thinking 8 starters and a roster of 12 guys. Probably 2 IR spots.
