Halas, I'd have to say, darn near hands down.

Art Model. :D

The moving of the Browns leaves a bad taste in one's mouth, but Modell WAS instrumental in getting revenue sharing passed - he backed a young Pete Rozell on the issue. Something to think about, at least.

The McCaskeys.  :D

Actually, their predecessor, George Halas would have to be in with a shout.

Papa George! The inventor of the NFL! Without him, cheap as he was, we'd all be watchin' soccer! :D

Yes, he was one of the few who gave us football.

I wish I could buy a football team like Mara's father did for $500.

Actually, I believe Mara (the father) won the Giants in a bet - sort of.

He was a bookmaker (which was legal back then) and I beleive whoever was the owner at the time owed him money and they basically gave him the Giants franchise rights to pay off their debt.

At very least, in the top three (I like the Green Bay answer and have no beef with Wellington) ...

Pittsburgh is very fortunate -- they may not be the quickest to spill the coin, but they've proven wise, consistent, and non meddlesome, while active for the good of the game, the good of the team, and the good of their city. :D

Actually, I was wrong on this - MARA was the guy who backed Rozelle in revenue-sharing; Modell was extremely instrumental in the big-money TV contracts.
