He was insisting it was Michael Gaines, the CAR TE. Whoever the other announcer was kept whispering that "it's probably not Gaines. It's probably not Gaines." It was freaking hillarious. So, my wife got to hear me complain about announcers in that game and in the SNF game this week!! She was very happy by 11:00 last night. 1165738[/snapback] I'd forgotten the Gaines thing. When he doesn't think he's talking to trillions of doofuses, and chatting football with analysts, he's a f'ing genius. there's no other way to put it. He's entertaining to listen to, he's spot on in what he says, he's just a knowledgable guy and comes off very well. However, he gets in front of cameras and dumbs down at mach 5, it's pretty funny. I have new found respect for him, and actually enjoy him now that i know it's mostly just an act for the MNF audience. I'd take Dennis Leary over SNF crew anyday.
