Hugh 0ne
Any Huddlers out there can offer some info or insight on this breed of dog. I just bought a home and am looking to adopt a 2 yr old German Shorthair from the local humane society. thanks 1188989[/snapback] We have Weimaraners, 2 of them, and they are very close relatives to the German Shorthair. I can give you all kinds of info, just let me know what you're looking for. A short summary: They are high energy dogs that need a lot of excercise. If they get this excercise, they are very quiet in the house, kind of like coach potatoes. If they don't, they can get difficult in the house because they have too much energy. They're fine with children, although they are high energy and always excited, so they may accidentally knock small children over. They are phenomenal hunting dogs. They are VERY smart, very friendly, very stubborn, and love to be around people all the time. If you're not home or around the dog a lot, the dog will be unhappy and they often have seperation anxiety. Great dogs, great pets, they need to be trained properly, and they need excercise a few times a week. PM me if you need more info.
Gdawg
Okay, so should I go with the German Shorthair, or should I see what's on the waiver wire?
LegFuJohnson
Does your league gets points per reception (tennis balls, frisbees, etc)? It could matter.

Bruce
I would start the pointer, they tend to get really fired up at home and play well.

Jumpin Johnies
German short haired pointers are great dogs. I've got two friends of mine that have them and my father has a hunting buddy that has one as well. They're a bit hyper but they're a great breade.
