A federal district court in Sacramento, California has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Michael Newdow challenging the constitutionality of our national motto, “In God We Trust.”

Next win: Saving San Diego's Mt. Soledad Cross.

Don't worry, after Dubya gets Reagan added to Mt. Rushmore he'll get that motto changed to "In Gop We Trust."

While I happen to find the motto offensive, I don't sue over it becasue the mood in this country isn't right for it to be removed. There are still too many people running around trying to turn this country into a theocracy.

Exactly, except I don't find it offensive, just fatuous.

Before I take a big stand on anything... I ask myself, "Is this the best way to affect change?"

Clearly... this was not going to do anything besides rally-up the religious right. Not smart.

Did I tell you guys about the "Vigil for Peace" that I saw on the walking mall in Boulder? 6 hippies standing on a street corner with signs. "Is it working?" I asked. No, you dumb hippies... it's not working. Get a job. Then contribute your money to someone who is actually taking meaningful action. :D
