The U.S. has exactly one shot on goal in the tournament so far, the worst in the whole field of 32 teams.

The average shots on goal is 11.625 and the second worst team so far is Angola (which has managed four times as many shots on goal as the U.S.). Hell, even the Swiss has 13 shots on goal.

Has the USA ever had a good team offensively?

I think this is the biggest reason the US team has never been a power AND a reason soccer hasn't gotten bigger in the US...They need a prolific goal scorer who can be marketed...and they have NEVER had one...

maybe Freddie Adu can become the face of soccer in the next world cup...

I'd like to see the US team win and call the game "soccer." Do you think the world would dislike us after we show out arrogance?

"Soccer" is not exclusive to the US - it is a commonly used term in the rugby playing countries to distinguish it from rugby football. "Soccer" is a corruption of the term Association Football.
