AtomicCEO
I had Pulse on VHS like 10 years ago. Is this a re-mastered something or other?
Ursa Majoris
I had Pulse on VHS like 10 years ago. Is this a re-mastered something or other? From the Amazon blurb: Mixed in mind-expanding 5.1 surround sound and digitally re-mastered by James Guthrie, the Pulse DVD includes some of original screen films used for the 1970s concert performances of The Dark Side of the Moon (which were never filmed) as well as the visual components for the piece which were remade for the 1994 tour. jaxfactor
I wonder if the DVD will have the little blinking light on the side like the CD. Any way to get that light blinking again? I thought that was kinda neat and it seemed to last forever.

Mark5
Get the D. Gilmour Live in Concert DVD with the picture of him holding an acoustic guitar on the front. There are a few bad songs but overall its a 9-10 scale DVD. I learned alot of guitar licks from this one..

AtomicCEO
Nice, I almost bought Dark Side the other day on DVD. Now I'll wait and get both with this. If you're a big fan of Dark Side... I highly recommend this I own it. It's an in-depth look at the making of the greatest album ever with all 4 members of the band, producer Alan Parsons, and lots of other people. They play tracks from each song seperately, and show you what happens when effects are applied... tell stories... play bits acoustically... It's really really awesome if you're into the recording process or the band or both.

Ursa Majoris
Update: So, it arrived during the week and I waited until this evening to watch it. If you're any kind of Pink Floyd aficionado, get this DVD. The sound is stupendous in 5.1 and they've even got an increased kbps version that I haven't tried yet which apparently further increases the sound quality. The DVD is full of extras such as some bootleg video of five Floyd numbers - On The Turning Away is particularly excellent. Those with a Costco membership can snap it up for $13.99. Cunning Linguist
The latest issue of Rolling Stone has an article about Syd. It's a good read. We've already discussed in another thread how much of an influence he was to the Floyd even after he was booted out, and this story references Gilmour and Waters a bit more. We're going to Costco this week so ill have to pick up Pulse. I've worn out my old vhs tape of "Live at Pompai". Echo's is the most played song on my iTunes playlist. That thing rocks
