Robash
I moved to the Azores about a month ago, and just got notice that my household goods (all the chit I own) are arriving on the third. So it got me starting to think if anything is gonna come in damaged. I never had a problem with stuff breaking in a move before but im worried about a framed jersey i have. Got me thinking about stuff that other people might have...so lets here it and any stories that might come with them. My two favorite things are my Michael Strahan autographs...my mother used to work for a home equity mortgage loan place underwriting for them...well one loan officers husband works for the Sports agencey that represented Strahan. Knowing that She was hugh Giants fan she'd always get her cool gifts for christmas...mainly because my mom was responsible for her making 10k-30k a month in commision. The first year in comes an autographed football from Strahan. then in 2001 when i was home on leave before i got deployed to Saudi Arabia, I "stole" my moms Strahan jersey to take with me since id finish out the season there...well she told the story one day and for christmas she got a jersey from Strahan that says " to Cathy, don't let your son take this one! Michael Strahan". she keeps them for awhile then passes them on to me because she knows ill take care of them. I also got a Joe Morris autgraphed football from 1986...friend of the family gave it to me for my birthday when they found it rotting in thier attic...the signature was starting to fade but its still pretty visible. and last but not least is a baseball i have signed by Jerry Grote...who was the catcher on the 69 mets world series team...he turned out to be a member of my mothers church in San Antonio. great guy loves to talk baseball. so hopefully the case i have the jersey in comes in one piece... nuke'em ttg
i built a Maple display rack that hangs by my desk with autograph & jersey football cards, saw Dick Butkus at a casino for a fund raiser and had him autograph a football for my son.....it was winter, Butkus had a cold & was alittle pissed off.... ....fund raiser dude said that Dick will answer some questions....dipstick in front row asks "how's your knees " Butkus reply " YOU DON'T CARE, END OF QUESTIONS" .. ... still would not mess with that guy at his age, he would rip your head off easily......... DMD
I used to collect football cards way back when and there was an offer by one of the companies (fleer maybe?) that for like $10 you could get an uncut sheet of cards signed by a rookie that I took up because he was a Cowboy. Been looking at that sheet of autographed Emmittt Smith cards for quite a while now. I also have another autographed picture of him with his official rookie card as well. jaxfactor
Way back when I aquired a Pittsburgh Penguins real game jersey(the ones they used in their Stanley Cup days). It was a Mario Lemieux 66 jersey. I always wanted to try and get him to auto graph it but realized it would probably never happen because I now live in Florida. My brother, who still lives in Pittsburgh, volunteered to be a marshall at Mario's annual golf tournament. I sent him the jersey well ahead of the event and asked if he could at least try and get Mario to sign it. Well, he did and sent it back to me. No message, just his signature with his trademark 66. I purchased a shadow box and now have it proudly displayed on the wall of my veg room. I even have it listed in my homeowner's insurance policy. AtomicCEO
Mounted over my couch is a framed collage of tickets from every sporting event I've attended. Whalers, Patriots, Red Sox, Paw Sox, Wolfpack, River Rats, HV Renegades, Army football, Broncos, Rockies, Avalanche... that is the most personal and interesting sports memorabilia that I have. My original intent was to put them under glass on a coffee table, but this works almost as well. Other than that, I have banners, foam fingers, and assorted worthless crap. Timmypg
I met the entire 1991 Pittsburgh Pirates team. I have pictures of me with Bonds and a bunch of others. I also have a ball signed by the entire team. Besides that I have autographs from Lou Holtz, The Rocket Ismael, JoePa, Dr J, Moses Malone, Bart Star, Mike Singletary, and a few other lesser known ND players. P.S. I may have spelled a few of the names wrong but you know who I mean.

jaxfactor
Forgot to mention all the Jags stuff I have from their inaugural season. I had season tix for the first 4 years then gave them up. I have programs, yearbooks, patches, etc. I even had the season ticket sheet reprints for the first 3 years framed and on my wall. Also I have a replica helmet with the original logo on a silver helmet. The Jaguar car company was going to sue because the logo looked too much like the car logo so the Jags changed their logo and ultimately their helmets to the present Jag head. I never understood why a team in Florida would have black helmets. Too freeking hot!
Chief Dick
Autographed George Brett bat. Got it as a gift when I worked for Gateway computers. Brett was a good buddy of Ted Waitt, the founder of Gateway. Once in awhile he would come to the office and sign a bunch of stuff for the employees. CaptainHook
I have an authentic Riddell Colts helmet autographed by Peyton Manning from his rookie year. My wife went and got it signed as an anniversary gift at training camp. It also has Marvin Harrison's, Zach Crockett's, Bertrand Berry's, Jerome Pathon's, Lamont Warren's, E.G. Green's and Tony McCoy's autograph from Manning's rookie year on it. I also have a football signed by the entire Colts team from 2003 when they went to the AFC Championship game. (Unfortunately that's probably the best finish they'll have for a while.) I won that in the pre-season for a haltime promotion called "Drive the Distance". My wife and I had to pass the ball down the field in a race between two couples. Our time was the best all year and we were invited back to compete again at the end of the year. We won a Chevrolet Colorado that day.

Chargerz
I've got an NFL football signed by Dan Fouts, Charlie Joiner, Ed White, Rolf Benirschke, and Don Coryell. darin3
I have a ton of basketball and football cards - some autographed. Troy Glaus autographed baseball. Samaki Walker signed basketball. I have some photos signed by various '85 Bears. And somewhat related - we have an autographed movie poster from American Beauty (Kevin Spacey). Edit: I also have some Lakers bobbleheads (which reminds me, I gotta see if anyone's bid on them yet - have 'em on eBay). I am keeping the Kobe and Malone ones. Anyone wanna buy the rest? Mihm, Payton, Walton, Odom, Butler and Fisher. Edited July 3, 2006 by darin3

Grits and Shins
I don't do sports memorabilia. The fact that a person excels at a sport just doesn't make me appreciate his signature any more than I would the signature of, say, David M. Dorey, or any other person on this earth. I don't get autograph hounds for celebrities of any sort.
i_am_the_swammi
My original intent was to put them under glass on a coffee table, but this works almost as well. I have the same assemblage of items, but included every concert I ever attended (Live Aid, 38 Dead stubs, many others), as well as various movie stubs. They are under glass as the top of my L-shaped bar. Awesome conversation piece. My most cherished sports items: An England soccer jersey signed by Kevin Keegan (Liverpool star from the 70's), and a signed Reggie White NFC Pro-Bowl game-worn helmet (acquired via auction for Children's Hospital in Philly),
