I got this list off of an article from AOL. Some pretty big names in here. Which surprises you the most ? They noted that Nomar may get in through an internet vote.

Not having Liriano and Capuano in the AL and NL is a complete joke.

The other complete joke is having the All-Star game decide which league gets homefield advantage. All because Bud worked is A$$ off to get the All-Star game in Milwaukee for the team he owned (his daughter was just a front) and the damn game ends in a tie. And there was Bud standing and holding his arms in the air with the stupid look on his face, like what can I do. Meanwhile the freaking stadium's roof is leaking like a mofo because of shotty workmanship, etc... That weekend made Milwaukee look like a freaking joke.

Agreed. Not only that, there was that fatal accident when lifting the roof into place.

Apart from that, the AllStar voting just has to be fixed. I would like to see fan voting stopped altogether - it is reminiscent of a Boss Daley Chicago election, a complete fiasco. I'd prefer to see stats take a much higher profile and have the players vote.

Schilling. He's been hurt by 4 ND in his last 6 starts, but in thos starts he's give up 2,3,1,2,3,2 earned runs, pitched at least 6 innings in each start for 41 innings, struck out 37, averaging 8.1K per 9, has 5 total BB in that time with his only downside being that he gave up 3 HR in a game, but has given up only one other in that stretch. He could easily be and probably should be 14-2. He sits at 10-2.

Thought it was weak that three White Sox pitchers are there when the Tigers team era is 3/4 run better than the Sox. Liriano has been lights out for the Twins and I really wanted to see Verlander pitch. Both are electric on the mound.

Edit: I have no votes yet. :D

You haven't seen my Ephis (sp?) pitch.

out of the 3 Jose Contreras deserves it for being the best pitcher for the past 13 months.

mark buehrle is there for the lefty role, valender is not lefty.

and Jenks is our closer what closer is better on the tigers?

Don’t be mad at the sox, be mad at MLB. I would rather have valender play instead of that KC pitcher. Since the game matters, i dont want a rep for each team. Just pick the best players.

And hey how mad are the twins, the won like 17 of 19 games and only gained 1 game in the process :D

But I think the 3 sox pitchers do belong in there and so does valender.

But if you want valender to be there at the expense of the sox you would have to pick valender or Contreras because they are both right handed starters. And most people would pick Contreras.

Yep, the rule about each team having to be represented sure does look pretty damn silly when you see stuff like that.

Redman on there is definitely a joke. If anything, Grudzelanek deserves to be there out of any of the Royals. He's been the most consistent.

However, I do like the rule of having each team represented. Gives guys like me a reason to watch the game. Plus, who really wants to see a team full of Yankees and Mets every year.

ESPN already shoves the big market teams down our throats the rest of the season.

I do agree with you when this was an exhibition game. but now i want the best players out there.

I would like if the all-star game was just an exhibition game like before, and to determine the home filed advantage for the world series you compare interleague records. so this year the AL would have home field.

this works better cause you don’t rely on just 9 innings for home field. Since is just harder to make the playoffs in the AL (this year) you should get a reward.

and what if an AL all-star wins the game with a grand slam in the 9th. And he gets trade to the NL 2 weeks later

Zamaya may not be closing yet, but he has incredible stuff, and should be, and probably would be if the Tigers were not paying Jones so much. YOu think they wish they could have spent that money on someone else now, after watching this kid kick ass for the first half of this season

BTW, Why does it have to be a closer and not setup men making the AS team, for a setup role in the game, when a setup man is having a great season.
