10g_DBA
Just bought a king size Tempurpedic CelebrityBed. Normally, these go for $3,500, but I got a sweet deal on a floor model. I paid $2,660 and they threw in a mattress pad and free delivery. I was a little unsure about buying a demo unit cuz of every Tom, Dick, and Harry putting his nappy head on it, but they assured me they will clean it and "micro sterilize" it, so I guess that's not a problem. It's getting dropped off tomorrow morning. Looking forward to a good night's sleep. Anybody else have a foam bed? What do ya think?

rocknrobn26
Aren't they hot? I don't perspire.....I SWEAT!!! Sleeping whilst being surrounded by foam seems like sleeping in an arctic suit! http://www.looedivers.com/pinnacle_arctic.htm
Czarina
We have one of the mattress toppers. It is a bit warmer than sleeping on a regular mattress. Not hugely so, though.
cliaz
he paid 3 grand for a bed a few hundred other people have farted in. done good? hmm, i dunno.. Hell yea, in fact he got a deal. I'd love to have a bed that a couple of hundred people have farted into. But you gotta let me know how it is. I've been dying to get one of them. Me and Sleep just do not mix very well and I'd love to have a solid 8 hours of sleep for once.

Sleeping whilst being surrounded by foam seems like sleeping in an arctic suit! http://www.looedivers.com/pinnacle_arctic.htm Yup - I bought one of their pillows and it lasted about 3 hours. I roasted trying to sleep on that thing. I sleep hot too. The best pillow I ever had was a Sobokawa - those things really wick moisture away from your head and makes for cool sleeping. Sadly, I can't find them anymore.

Jimmy Neutron
I see a few on eBay. Thanks, Darin - I'll have to check again. I looked for months on ebay, but only found their little eye covers and the small travel size pillows. I gave up, but have not looked back for several months. Avernus
I have the best memory foam pillow that I've seen on the market...I am unable to fathom a bed like this and it is a deeelight but I would personally never buy a bed floor model....these places can have rodents or bugs that crawl all over them and the whole 'micro sterilize' thing sounds like BS... but you can always clean it youself with...something.. Jimmy Neutron
Assume this is what you're referring to... That's the one - thanks. I'm going to go look for a vendor that offers the "buy it now" option. If anyone likes a firm pillow, but needs good neck support - this is a great option.

I've never paid retail, but it seems I usually pay around $30. I like the feel of some of the foam pillows, but they don't breathe well enough for me. That's really the strong suit of the Sobakawa. The husks inside the pillow wick away moisture from your head. Because it's a lot like a bean bag, you can shape it to support your neck and face however you want. Jimmy Neutron
I might get one and use both....this is an idea.. Good - give it a try. Another pro for the Sobakawa is that you will dominate any pillow fight you happen to get into. These pillows are heavy - you can knock a person clean off their feet with the right timing. My kids love it.
