Steeltown D
I am in a 10 team keeper league. You can keep 0-3 players per year and only players drafted after round 3. Also what ever round that keeper was dafter last year you must give up a draft pick 2 rounds earlier. Example I have LJ whom I drafted in the 7th round last year so this year he will be my 5th round pick. I will be keeping LJ and Larry Fitzgerald drafted 6th round so 4th round this year and I have the number 1 pick in my draft. Scoring is standard performance pass=4pts,rush/rec=6pts, 1pt per rec, standard yardage. My question is about my third keeper. There are only 2 other options no one else is worth consideration. Kurt Warner who will cost me a 9th round pick or Heath Miller who will cost me a 15th round pick? I know everyones first reaction is why Kurt, well with the exception of Peyton and Daunte all the other worthy QBs will be kept because they were all drafted in the 7th round or later and because of this and the fact that I give up my 4th and 5th round picks plus draft last in the 6th I concerned about my quarterback postion. I know I will be getting 2 of the top 3 backs but there are teams that will be pretty competitive based on the fact that they will have top tier 2 running backs and tier 1 wr and QB. Any constructive comments would be great.
tomfin2000
I would definitely keep Warner for a 9th round draft pick. At that point you're hunting for sleepers anyway. You have very little to lose and everything to gain. There should be some good TEs available in the 3rd to 5th rounds of your draft and I'm just not sold on Miller as a starting Fantasy TE. MrGameTime
I think that would be pretty good move to keep Warner, by that time in the draft it would be fine, considering what you have kept before that point. You should be able to build a nice team. I'm in the same boat, I'm keeping LJ for a 6th RD pick because we just give up one RD higher each year (2005 7th RD) and I'm also keeping S. MOSS for an 8th RD pick I just don't know if I want to give up a 5th for Plummer? Check my posting.
Steeltown D
Thanks for the advice, I think I will be keeping Warner. If he is healthy for all 16 games I think he has a huge year, but thats a huge if.
TecmoBeast
Kurt Warner is good value for a 9th round pick. There will be plenty of options at TE during the draft. You're going to need to draft another good QB which sucks, but Warner can easily be your starter every week while he's healthy.
suppasonic
And by the way, with your first pick, you potentially have a tandem RB of LJ and LT2. Now that is sexy.
