SpinalTapp
My rookie fantasy season...I had no idea how to prep or strategize. I didn't even keep up with the injury updates on players. I drafted Terrell Davis in the fourth round. What I did not know was that he had blown out his knee and was out for the year. However....that mistake created an opportunity for my team that would land me the championship in my first year in the league. I quickly read up on the three available backups in Denver... There was Olandis Gary, Mike Anderson, and a rookie named Clinton Portis. One owner grabbed Gary off waivers, another grabbed Anderson. I picked up C.Portis. While he did not start immediately...you all know the rest.. In a 12 team league, I ended up with P.Manning, Ricky Williams (in his best season ever), plus C.Portis and his 15 TDs who I picked up on waivers. I lost two games all year.... that's turning lemons into lemonade....very lucky. I doubt there was ever a better waiver wire pick up for owners than Portis in 2002. The Wolf
J.J. Stokes. Might as well close the thread. Not so fast, Furd...ty this one on for size... Scott Mitchell with the 10th pick in the FIRST ROUND in the late 90's. I think it was like 1997 or 1999.

Deacon Bill
Ahman Green at 11 overall last year 2 or 3 years ago I drafted William Green (on the heels of his breakout season the year before) with the 12th pick in the 1st round. I passed on Ahman Green who went on to have a Pro Bowl - like season.

ajh2
Kevin Jones last year for me. I was hoping for a solid #2 RB nope for the 2nd round. I had Holmes but no LJ. Ouch. Out of the playoffs altogether - finished 9th out of 10 teams.
