If there are any good young wideouts left you should take some ASAP. Jeff Webb is a good sleeper who may still be available. I agree with the analysis on the Culpepper pick. Both Martin and Smith may show to be over-the-hill this year, and if not they surely will be very soon. I don't know what your defensive requirements are as you haven't posted those, nor do I know who might be left to take defensively.

defense is wide open ...lotta players left and what do u guys think of jennings of GB?i also can draft LLoyd of washington... theres santonio holmes still i believe as for old guys i mnow ..not keepin em after this year

don't know much about jennings. he doesn't appear to have great size and the scouting report i found questioned his breakaway speed. based on that i wouldn't rank him too high on the list.

lloyd is a solid young receiver that i would have no problem owning. he does find himself in a rather crowded WR situation in washington with moss and randle el.

as for holmes, you have great potential, but the guy is showing that he is a dope with all of the problems off the field. multiple kids with multiple women, assault charges ... :D

out of the three i would definitely take lloyd.

I have to agree with most people here with the Culpepper draft position. I just did a similar draft and ended up with Roy and Driver (3rd and 4th) at WR. At your 5th or 6th you would have still had Eli, Brees (who you were able to get in the 7th), Brooks, etc. and you would have ended with 2 RB & 2 WR studs.

I don't know how your draft went but instead of Martin you could have taken a chance with a rookie RB if available or another WR younger and with more upside. Just my thoughts. You might want to take a chance on Blaylock, if Martin goes down he will have a good chance to put some decent numbers.

Good Luck

i know i misspelled draft but its more non knowledge of typing than not knowing how to spell

What is non knowledge of typing?

It's called "open your eyes". Or, does it hurt to do that when your darft is out of sorts?

I did some research and took some notes on these rookie WRs earlier and two guys I really like are Jennings and Webb. There are really 3 things I consider when evaluating such players: athleticism (combination of size/speed), ability (how they did in college), and the situation they're walking into. Both of these guys have all 3 of these things going for them.

Brandon Lloyd finds himself in a VERY crowded situation. On top of Moss and Randle El, David Patten is back and is making a very strong impression early on. If he performs as usual you can expect him to get some time in there too. Lloyd can make plays but he's also small and not in a very good situation. He was also known to be inconsistent while in SF. I would definitely take Jennings if he's still available (I didn't expect him to still be available at this point), and Webb as well who should definitely still be there if Jennings is.

Step 1: Buy a membership to the Huddle

Step 2: Read the expert opinions given by the best staff on the web

Step 3: Never darft a quarterback not named Peyton Manning in the first 3 rounds

Step 4: Join another league this season, and darft another team with the knowledge you have gained.

Defense if VERY important, however it's more important to take care of your offense in a draft only because defense can be built more easily through snatching players up from free agency during the start of the season. A lot of owners don't pay close attention to defensive stats early on, which gives an upper-hand to those that do.

I have to disagree slightly with the 'never draft a QB not named Peyton in teh first 3 rounds" rule too. A few years back I took Daunte Culpepper with the third-pick overall in the original keeper league I was in. He ended up scoring more points in one season than any other player, including Peyton (our league rules, like many others, give a good points for rushing yards and more points for rushing TDs than TDs thrown, which contributed to his totals). However these days I probably wouldn't take any quarterback in the first 3 rounds, including Peyton (though his brother is young and is poised to score a lot of points this year. I might consider him).
