spain
I was gone to Chi-Town for 5 days and didnt get to play any poker at all. I worked all morning and then came home for a couple conference calls. Decided to slip in a quick 45 person, $10 buy-in tourney while I took these calls. Took down 2nd place. Heads up only went 3 hands. I had A8 suited and he had pocket K's. I raised 4XBB on the button. He just called. 8 came on the flop with 4 to the nut flush. I made a big bet, and he came over the top all in. I knew I was probably beat but with alot of outs. I called and he flipped over the Cowboys! Not much I could do I guess as I have replayed the hand in my mind several times. PokerStars Tournament #27647089, No Limit Hold'em Buy-In: $10.00/$1.00 45 players Total Prize Pool: $450.00 Tournament started - 2006/07/06 - 15:26:59 (ET) Dear Huddler, You finished the tournament in 2nd place. Haven't finished outside the money this week. There are still enough people loose enough to get cracked out early.
spain
Sweet. I've been playing the $22 SnGs at PokerStars lately. Haven't finished outside the money this week. There are still enough people loose enough to get cracked out early. The fish are absolutely teeming at PokerStars these days. I saw a couple plays today that I laughed out loud at. I make copious notes on players there too and after a few times playing with people, I get a good read on them. The notes came in handy against a couple players today. spain
can you take notes right on the site and store them electronically? Yes. You click on a players icon and it gives you a box to put notes in. From then on, they have a N symbol on their icon when I am on poker stars. I click on it and there are all the notes I took.
darin3
I'm starting up a 2-table tourney. Plenty of spots left. SnG #27655871
The Holy Roller
I never played at PokerStars until that evening I watched you come from way back at the final table and won over a grand. So I went and opened an account there. Lordy, lordy. It's like fishin' in a barrel. The first evening I played $1/2 NL and turned $50 into $355. Good golly, there's free money everywhere there! I owe you.

I had pocket tens, which held up... to get me ahead.

I just got dealt 9s as BB in my tourney. Flop was 9 2 9. I slowplayed it and probably didn't make enough off the hand as I should have. But yeah, I've been getting good - even great - hands cracked lately.

Big Country
My problem is I was running real good end of last week so I started loosesning up to have some fun.. hands I normally would never touch like J9 suited and stuff from early position... catch just enough to make me stay like top pair with flush draw and actually have the lead sometimes after the flop only to see it wiped out by the turn or river. That was my problem up until - I dunno - 2 or 3 months ago. Part of the issue is going back and forth from the lower-stake short-handed tables and higher-stakes full tables. Position is so key. I am tossing small PPs unless I'm in middle-to-late position, for example, now. Position and patience.

darin3
you and your 9s They've been good to me. I can't believe how loose people play after essentially "wasting" almost an hour... if you've made it this far, now is not the time to be making flippant calls. Otis
Gosh you h00dlers are such online poker rookies. Back in my old stomping grounds at that other fantasy site we had some pretty serious players. Otis dominated for a while but slid into a grand gambling epidemic and pissed away tens of thousands of dollars online. That said, I can still at the drop of a hat deposit 100 bucks into stars and triple it within hours. I just get greedy after that. My best run ever, if I may toot my own horn for a moment, was a day in the middle of my online poker craze when I deposited 100 dollars and ran it up to almost 12,000 dollars within the course of less than 24 hours (it was a serious marathon session). The good news is that the following day I jumped in over my head and promptly gave it all back. God I miss those thrills... Carry on... darin3
Time for a nice double up. Oh well. I knew the dude had no ace and if he wasn't the big stack he wouldn't have called my all-in there. I'll settle for fourth. There were about 3-4 hands there when we were down to 5-6 players that I would have hit HUGH hands with, but was playing a bit too tight for the circumstances.
