rt1966
I am in a 10 team performance league, standard scoring. We start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, 3IDP. We get to keep 3 players from last year. I have the 1st pick. My keepers are Ronnie Brown(my 5th round pick), Roy Williams(my 12th round pick), and Eli Manning(my last pick, 22nd round). Some of the other keepers that won't be available in the early rounds are Larry Johnson, Julius Jones, Willis McGahee and Larry Fitzgerald. I probably will pick SA with the first pick(like him better than LT because of weaker division). My next 2 picks will be 20th and 21st. I usually load up with RB but am considering going WR, WR with these 2 picks. I am not sure if there will be a RB that I really like at this point in the draft. My next 2 picks would be 40th and 41st. I could get one of the rookies at 40th, maybe Addai. I would then have to pick Ronnie Brown with my 41st pick. This would give me 3 solid RB, Alexander, Brown, Addai and 3 decent recievers depending on who would be available at 20th and 21st. Any thoughts on this strategy. What recievers do you like at 20th and 21st? Thanks
Bonedaddies
I am trying to understand your keeper format and assume that you cannot keep your 1st 4 round's pick from LY?? You have some nice keepers, if that is the format! Getting SA with your number one is nice, and you should be solid at RB with Brown and SA. I would most likely go WR/RB with your 20th and 21st due to a 10 team league. There will be WR's that come back to you in later rounds, but if you go WR/WR you will be left with very little at RB in the later rounds. Look at best available, but I would lean toward WR/RB in that spot!
rt1966
That is correct, we cannot keep anyone from last year that we drafted in the 1st four rounds. All other keepers move up a round this year. For example, I drafted R. brown in the 6th round last year so I have to pick him in the 5th round this year. I got Eli Manning out of the pool last year so he becomes my last pick(22nd round). I think I have some pretty good value in my keepers. The RB that will probably be there at 20th and 21st is someone like Kevin Jones, Cory Dillon, Jamal Lewis. If I could get 2 of the following receivers, Boldin, Moss, Harrison, Wayne, wouldn't this be better than taking one of those RB's? Thanks for the input. Bonedaddies
I would rather have C.Dillon/Harrison and a 40th like Mark Clayton/I.Bruce then have Harrison/Boldin and Sam Gado or a 40th RB
rt1966
Sam Gado? He is going around 100 in most 10 team mocks. The RB' s that will probably be there are Chester Taylor, Reggie Bush, Warrick Dunn, Tatum Bell, Joe Addai. Is Corey Dillion that much better than any of these, if he is even healthy? tonorator
i take the 2 WRs. i always fill my starting spots first before drafting backups, unless the value is overwhelming and i think i can trade later ...
