Dr. Sacrebleu
Italy or France? who are you rooting for, and why? Edited July 9, 2006 by Dr. Sacrebleu
skylive5
Not rooting for anyone. What I am rooting for is a cleanly played, classic match, that goes down to the final seconds with a spectacular goal to win it. With both sides having 11 on the field at the end. Just looking for some well played futbol.
Ramhock
I am a notorious underdog rooter, so I would normally root for France. . . but it is France. Go Italia!!
aqualung
Andiamo l'Italia. Dia dei calci all'asino della Francia.
billay
I will be rooting for the frogs today. My wife is French and we spend time there every year. Not to mention the Italians will be intolerable for the next 4 years if they win.
spain
Let me see. Do I root for some lying backstabbing ungrateful cowards who are so jealous of the United States that they try to undermine us around the world while taking bribes for murderous dicatators? Or do I cheer for these non-deodorant wearing pathetic flopping and diving malingerers whose antics have basically ruined the sport of soccer and who flip flop more than John Kerry in wartime? I will simply have to hold my nose in this one as I hate both teams equally.
Selly
I'm rooting for Germany to invade around the 60th minute and take both teams off the pitch.
spain
I'm rooting for Germany to invade around the 60th minute and take both teams off the pitch. Me too! But it might be hard to catch the French as they will be retreating at the speed of light, and the Italians smell makes for a pretty unpentratable defense unless the Germans are wearing a full hazmat suit and gas mask... Chief Dick
Not rooting for anyone. What I am rooting for is a cleanly played, classic match, that goes down to the final seconds with a spectacular goal to win it. With both sides having 11 on the field at the end. Just looking for some well played futbol. Here, here. Not really rooting for any team in particular. I enjoy watching Zidane play though. Being an old midfielder myself it's amazing the way he can control the game. Effortless and calm.
whomper
Andiamo l'Italia. Dia dei calci all'asino della Francia. Viva Italia. Spero che tirano giù il francese e portano la tazza di nuovo a Italia. Baciare la mia Spagna di asino.

Footballjoe
I would have to say Italy. The only reason is because my old friend Gene "Tumbleweed" Gasparini who I played with in high school and in other leagues is of Italian descent. But that is the only reason. Ursa Majoris
Gonna root for France simply because of Zidane, one of the greatest players ever to grace a field.

wiegie
rooting for France to win--the diving of the Italians has really turned me off to them and the Zidane/Thuram story is spectacular. Also, I just spent a week in France during the start of the WC and have friends there who will be very happy to win. Finally, if the French win, I will look like a genius for having 3 French players on my WC fantasy team. (I will say this though, if the Italians win that will be fine with me too. Like skylive, I just want a good game.)

Ursa Majoris
have you analized our current administration as well? Of course. Spain would analize anything that moves and many things that don't.
godtomsatan
France. I would have said Germany or Argentina or any number of other teams, but the French have really turned it on of late and have played a couple of amazing games vs. Spain and Brazil and Portugal. Zidane is making a push towards becoming one of the true all-time greats, and Thierry Henry has always been one of my favorite players. Plus, the Italians are fradulent pu$$ies who flop, push, elbow, hack and scrum like the thugs they are.
