Cordless Telephone with Answering Machine

So my cordless telephone at home crapped out and the wife wants a new one. My only input was I wish we had one that would still blink to show there are new messages if you skip a message when you are playing them back. That way if I was listening to the new messages, immediately heard the message was for her and skipped it, the message light would still blink letting her know she has a new message.

Anyone have a phone that has that feature?

I don't think so. It seems once you start playing it, the signals for 'New' go off. How I got around that was to leave a message like "Honey, sweetheart, love of my life.......you have a message!" That resets the 'New' thingee. The one I have, I believe if you interupt the playback, it might keep the light blinking and it will still beep, if that's what you want, but Idon't think it has a skip feature. I'll check it out.....

Confirmed. If you have 2 messages and you skip (FF) #1 and delete or play thru #2 it won't keep the light flashing or the beep sounding. Sooooo do what I said to get around that by leaving a message (voice record) like "Honey, sweetheart, love of my life.......you have a message!" as that will reset it. Methinks a feature like that may or may not exist. Prolly not, but it will take a lot of research from the systes manual.

FWIW.... I have a Uniden 5885-2 and it has worked well for the last 2+years.

I"ve got this one

more than I need but pretty damn cool looking

The problem w/ some 5.8 gig phones is that all do NOT do 5.8 both ways. Some do 5.8 one way but 2.8 the other and that can still cause problems w/ a wireless network. Mind you, that is how it was 2+ years ago, and things may have changed. The Uniden does 5.8 both ways. How about yours Loaf? BTW....that is pretty cool lookin'! :D

I have a similar Uniden model and it's been great. My wife and kids are hell on phones and this set has held up well.

Not sure about the message feature you're looking for. It seems like I've seen a "keep as new" feature somewhere, but not sure where. :D
