smt080
So I have the first pick this year in my league. There are 10 owners and it is a performance league. I'm sure that I will use this first pick on a running back. Who do I take: Alexander, Johnson, or Tomlinson???
BigMikeinNY
LJ seems to be the overall consensus pick on the board. At the enf od the season, I think they are all going to be in the top 3 anyways. See if you can trade down to 2 or 3 and get some-thin out of it. BM

I would take LT if I couldn't move down
buckeyejim
So I have the first pick this year in my league. There are 10 owners and it is a performance league. I'm sure that I will use this first pick on a running back. Who do I take: Alexander, Johnson, or Tomlinson??? I say Larry Johnson #1, S. Alexander #2 and LT #3. The only reason I say LT #3 is not knowing how the QB position will affect him. Defenses might stack the line against him and force Rivers to prove he can throw. The Chargers have a good TE but weak WR's. But, don't get me wrong, I'd be thrilled to have LT. I don't think you'll go wrong with any of the 3. lynch19
I also agree with the trade down. They are options 1A B C. It is like losing a dollar and finding 99 cents. If you can get a mid round pick for moving down and staying in the top 3 do it otherwise take LJ.
tinys_hawks
I would take either of the 3, so I would see if you could trade down and get something else in return like a good receiver or another decent running back.
suppasonic
The top 3 are all gonna put out big #s. However, to win a fantasy league, you need to take risky players with big upside. 1. Larry J. - No one has more upside than him. 20 TD in 9 games started? Try that over a full season. 2. LT- Explosive amazing back who will crack the 20 TD with the utter lack of options around him. 3. SA- The least upside. He peaked last year, and after a huge upswing most players have some sort of downswing (See: Manning, Peyton). All 3 have things questionable about them. How will SA do without Hutch? Does the Madden Curse really work? How will Phillip Rivers affect LT? Was Brees really that great of a QB anyways? Will LJ ajust in his first season starting? What about the new coaches? I also think that LJ has the least amount of risk. He will do just fine starting and Saunders may run the ball even more than last year. LT wont be affected too much because Brees wasn't a Pro Bowl calibur guy and there is always the threat of Antonio Gates to keep defenders from completely focusing on him, but there is more risk than LJ. SA is losing one of the top lineman in the game in Hutch. This has a chance of hurting the most out of the big 3. So, in summary LJ LT SA

If Brees was still there I'd have LT first and move the list down.
B Man Inc
I also like LJ, LT, and then Alexander. Trading down would be a great option but it could be hard to do, assuming the owners with the #2 & #3 picks know the same things we all do. If you can't trade down then take LJ. Phat Rugby
I am having the same dillemma and have put the word out that I would look at any offers. So far, nothing. I think the choice is between LJ and LT. Thankfully, I have another month or so to figure it out.
